  • Patent number: 8397320
Abstract: The patient lifting device includes a transverse beam that supports a movable lift assembly to move a patient relative to at least one of a bed or chair. The transverse beam spans between a pair of support structures and allows the lift assembly to move horizontally along the transverse beam to move the patient horizontally relative to the bed or chair. At one of the transverse beam ends, the lift assembly contacts a charging station. The charging station charges a battery, that is carried by the lift assembly, to power the lift assembly. The lift assembly is powered to move a patient vertically upward and downward. A power source is electrically coupled to the charging station to provide electrical power to charge the battery of the lift assembly through the charging station.

  • Patent number: 5809591
Abstract: A patient lift system incorporates a transverse bar which carries a patient lift system for movement between two laterally extending bars. The transverse bar is mounted at the same vertical height as the laterally extending bars and carries a motor for lifting and lowering the patient. Since the transverse bar is at the same vertical height additional patient lift height is provided as compared to prior art systems. In a further feature of the present invention, the frame includes an improved corner bracket and also includes vertical adjustment for the legs to achieve leveling of the overall frame. In another feature of this invention, a patient lift bar includes four lift points, with two forward lift points spaced by a greater distance than the two rearward lift points. This provides greater support to the rear of the patient, while the additional distance in the front facilitates entry and removal of the patient lift system.

  • Patent number: 5802633
Abstract: A portable patient lift assembly (10) for lifting and transporting a patient comprises a base (12), a support frame (18) extending vertically upward to top ends (20) and a lift frame (28) extending outwardly in a cantilevered fashion from a cross beam (26), and interconnecting the top ends (20). The support frame (18) includes a pair of vertical legs (22) and angled leg braces (24) which are spaced at the base (12) but overlap at the cross beam (26). The lift frame (28) includes one pair of braces (34) extending horizontally between the lift frame (28) and the joint at the ends of the cross beam (26) and the legs (22) and the leg braces (24). A second pair of braces (32) braces the lift frame (28) to the leg braces (24).
