If the title of the current web page starts with the same word, at least one word is removed from a beginning portion of the title of the current page that is in common with the title of the previous page, until the title of the current page fits in the title display area, or there are no more common words in the beginning of the title. End words or letters or end words can be removed until the title fits. Missing words may be indicated by adding a predetermined indicator in the area of the missing or removed words.
