  • Patent number: 11577603
Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine. The method includes: operating the internal combustion engine including a lambda regulation, which sets a fuel quantity to be supplied in accordance with a predefined setpoint lambda value, at preset times, carrying out a filter cleaning operation for a fuel tank ventilation, as a function of the presence of a release condition of the internal combustion engine, carrying out an adaptation of the lambda regulation by adapting at least one adaptation parameter as a function of operating variables of the internal combustion engine, at active filter cleaning operation and upon the presence of the release condition, operating variables which are required to carry out the adaptation of the lambda regulation being recorded, at deactivated filter cleaning operation and presence of the release condition, the adaptation of the lambda regulation being carried out as a function of the recorded operating variables.

  • Patent number: 10166862
Abstract: A method for detecting a sticking tank vent valve in a motor vehicle, a temperature sensor being situated in a tank vent line between the tank vent valve and an inlet point into an intake manifold or into a turbocharger and sticking of the tank vent valve being detected when the absolute value of a correlation of a calculated tank ventilation mass flow and of a signal value of the temperature sensor violates a predefinable threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20170030276
Abstract: A method for ascertaining the charging of a store for hydrocarbons originating from a fuel tank of a vehicle is characterized in that the charging of the store is determined from a variable characterizing the fuel outgassing with the aid of a model which maps the vapor pressure curve of the fuel.

  • Publication number: 20140109882
Abstract: A method for monitoring the leak tightness of a fuel tank system is provided, the fuel tank system being provided for supplying fuel to a supercharged internal combustion engine. A pressure accumulator is filled from the supercharged intake manifold area of the internal combustion engine. The pressure from the pressure accumulator is transferred to the fuel tank system, which includes in particular the fuel tank and, if necessary, an activated carbon filter. The pressure curve in the closed fuel tank system is observed. A leak in the fuel tank system may be inferred on the basis of the pressure curve, if necessary.
