  • Publication number: 20230160867
Abstract: A system includes a gas detector to detect a gas leak and notify a gas meter of a gas level of the gas leak. The gas meter receives the notification about the gas leak from the gas detector, and compares the gas level detected by the gas detector with a threshold level. The gas meter determines if the detected gas level is greater than the threshold level to determine whether to turn off a gas valve due to the detected gas level. The system also includes a head end system configured to receive notification of the detected gas level and status of the gas valve from the gas meter.

  • Patent number: 11525754
Abstract: The system can include installing a gas meter in a gas supply net. The system may also include determining, by the gas meter, a level of pressure within the gas meter. The system may also include determining, by the gas meter, a flow rate level within the gas meter. The gas meter determines where a leak exists based on the flow rate level and the level of pressure. The system may also include determining, by the gas meter, a location of the leak, and whether the leak is upstream or downstream from the gas meter. The location of the leak is determined by the level of the pressure and the flow rate level. The system can also include a head end configured at a set position. The gas meter can inform the head end of the location of the leak.

  • Patent number: 11499651
Abstract: A valve without position indicating switches. Positions of the valve are detected from current magnitude measurements and current profile analytics. The current profile may be learned initially and relearned and adapted at each operation. The valve may be opened and closed by a driver that is actuated by an electrical current to control the opening and closing of the valve. The current may be regulated by a controller to open and close the valve appropriately.

  • Publication number: 20220325812
Abstract: One embodiment is a device comprising a first and second section of a housing connected by a connection region that uses a plurality of connection elements, an inlet connected to the first or the second section, an outlet connected to the first or the second section where a gas can exit the housing, and a valve connected to the outlet, the valve capable of withstanding a first pressure in the housing.

  • Patent number: 11087643
Abstract: A security seal identification that may be matched with an identification of a utility measuring meter. This matching may be done, for instance, by a code which is imprinted on the seal and then matched to a meter number in a database, or by a code such as an encryption of the number assigned to the meter. An encryption may be read by an app on a smartphone or checked offline to determine whether the seal belongs to the meter or if it was altered or changed. A mismatch of numbers or symbols may generally indicate a change or manipulation and warrant an investigation.

  • Publication number: 20100307613
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for blocking and releasing a fluid flow having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A main opening is disposed between the inlet and the outlet and associated with a main blocking element that can seal off the main opening. An actuation device can move the main blocking element from the open position to the closed position, and the main blocking element is disposed in the closed position such that an increased fluid pressure at the fluid inlet relative to the fluid outlet brings about a press force holding the main blocking element in the closed position. A fluid overflow path is provided between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet that can be sealed off by the actuation device. The main blocking element can be released by the actuation device and the fluid overflow path can be opened by the actuation device.
