  • Publication number: 20250052136
Abstract: A density-based flow control configuration includes a housing and a first baffle having a first flow opening, a second baffle having a second flow opening adjacent the first baffle, one of the baffles being rotationally movable relative to the housing and to the other of the baffles, a first density float associated with the movable baffle, to impart torque to the associated baffle, the torque causing alignment or misalignment of the first and second openings. A method for allowing flow of a target fluid and choking flow of a nontarget fluid, including exposing a density-based flow control configuration to a fluid, imparting torque to a first baffle, and aligning or misaligning an opening in the first baffle with another opening to allow or choke flow of the fluid. A wellbore system, including a density-based flow control configuration.

  • Publication number: 20250052137
Abstract: An inflow control device (ICD), including a hydrocyclonic device having a plurality of pressure taps therein and a valve responsive to differential pressure of the plurality of pressure taps. An inflow control device (ICD) including a switch having a primary flow inlet and a primary flow outlet, and a trigger that generates a differential pressure in the trigger due to separation of fluids having different densities. A method for allowing flow of a desired fluid while retarding a flow of undesired fluid in a flow control device, including flowing a pilot fluid through a fluid separator, separating components of the pilot fluid, applying differential pressure of two of the separated components to a valve that is actuated by differential pressure, flowing or retarding flow of a primary flow through the valve in response to the differential pressure.

  • Publication number: 20250020042
Abstract: A fluid density valve housing includes a pilot fluid inlet and outlet and a primary fluid inlet and outlet. A shuttle is disposed within the housing. The shuttle comprises a portion having a reference density and a portion defining a cavity fluidically connected to the pilot fluid inlet, the shuttle permitting or denying primary fluid flow depending upon a density of a pilot fluid flowing through the cavity versus the reference density. A method for controlling flow, including comparing density of a pilot flow with a reference density, moving a valve between fully open, fully closed, and choked depending upon the differential density between the pilot fluid and the reference density. A borehole system, including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and a fluid density valve disposed within or as a part of the string.

  • Publication number: 20230099576
Abstract: An interface circuit includes an input circuit. The input circuit includes a first input pin, a second input pin and a third input pin. The input circuit further includes a first operational amplifier including a first output pin, a first non-inverting input pin electrically coupled to the first input pin via a first impedance and a first switch, and a first inverting input pin coupled to the first output pin. The input circuit also includes a second operational amplifier including a second output pin, a second non-inverting input electrically coupled to the second input pin via a second impedance and a second inverting input pin electrically coupled to the third input pin via a third impedance and a second switch. The first input pin and the second input pin are electrically coupled via a third switch and a fourth impedance.

  • Patent number: 11428730
Abstract: A method includes receiving data characterizing an output of a sensor coupled to an industrial equipment. The output can include a sum of a first secondary coil and a voltage of a second secondary coil. The first secondary coil can be included in a first circuit and the second secondary coil can be included in second circuit configured within the sensor. The method can also include determining an integrity state of a circuit configured within the sensor. The integrity state can be determined based on the received data. The integrity state can identify a state of operation of the circuit configured within the sensor. The method can further include providing the integrity state. Related systems, techniques, and non-transitory computer readable mediums are also described.
