  • Patent number: 11347793
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided. The method provides display of preference information using depth perception, such as on a three dimensional display or in a virtual reality space. Objects are identified in an image or image sequence and assigned relevance information based on the preference information. Objects that are favored are shown in foreground planes of the display, to varying degrees based on the strength of the preference. Objects that are disfavored are shown in background planes of the display, also to varying degrees based on the strength of the preferences. Unidentified or neutral objects are shown at a base level, neither foreground nor background. An exemplary embodiment is provided for a movie database application with various actors shown pushed in or out. Another embodiment allows a user to adjust the plane of the objects to alter his preferences.

  • Publication number: 20200245025
Abstract: The present principles generally relate to methods, systems and apparatus for electronic program listing processing and/or display. In particular, the present principles relate to providing (330) an electronic program listing (400; 500) or the like which is capable of indicating to viewers programs with different resolutions of content by using different resolutions, or degrees of sharpness or blurriness of graphical representations (401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406, 407, 408, 409; 510, 520, 530, 540) corresponding to the plurality of programs on the electronic program listing (400; 500). This way, a viewer is able to recognize easily and quickly which of the programs are, e.g., ultra high definition (UHD), high definition (HD), or standard definition (SD), just by glancing at the electronic program listing (400; 500).

  • Publication number: 20190110109
Abstract: The present principles generally relate to methods, systems and apparatus for electronic program listing processing and/or display (290). In particular, the present principles relate to providing an electronic program listing (295) or the like which is capable of indicating to viewers programs with high dynamic range (HDR) content differently than programs with non-high dynamic range content. In one exemplary embodiment, one or more program representations of an electronic program listing (295) representing one or more programs available in HDR format are displayed with higher brightness or luminance level than if the programs are available in non-HDR format. This way, a viewer is able to recognize easily and quickly which programs are HDR capable and which are not, just by glancing at the electronic program listing (295).

  • Publication number: 20180192148
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for generating content representations is provided. Respective power consumption information for content is determined. Representations for the content at relative luminance levels based on the respective power consumption information are rendered for display. Additionally, recommendations for reducing power consumption of content to be presented on a playback device can be directed to a user.

  • Publication number: 20150289276
Abstract: A method of optimizing the wireless power and signal integrity between an access point and multiple wireless clients includes an algorithm running in the access point that detects the downlink bandwidth and signal strength to a client device. Using this information, the wireless parameters of the access point can be adjusted to reach an optimal downlink power and signal condition. Uplink bandwidth and signal strength control to the access point is performed at each of the client devices using signal strength information provided by the access point. This achieves a dynamic balance with the adjustment of both the access point and the individual wireless client devices for transmit power control and signal integrity in a closed loop manner. The access point can perform the same dynamic balance while supporting multiple client devices operating in multiple frequency bands.
