  • Publication number: 20240125019
Abstract: A carrier for supporting a yarn to be used by a braiding machine, has: a spool carrying the yarn; a motor drivingly engaged to the spool; at least one sensor for producing data about a condition of the yarn in the spool; and a controller operatively connected to the motor and to the at least one sensor, the controller having a processor and a computer-readable medium operatively connected to the processor and having instructions stored thereon executable by the processor for: receiving said data from the at least one sensor; determining operation parameters of the motor based on the received data; and operating the motor per the determined operation parameters to create the desired tension in the yarn.

  • Patent number: 8731334
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a method of registering images. The method includes: for each image, determining an optimum intensity threshold set from a plurality of intensity threshold sets that maximizes a variance between classes of each set, segmenting each image using the corresponding determined optimum intensity threshold set, generating mutual information from a joint histogram of at least two of the segmented images, and registering the at least two images using the mutual information. The joint histogram may be generated using a geometry shader of a graphical processing unit.

    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Alban Lefebvre, Guillaume Bousquet, Christophe Chefd'hotel, Razik Yousfi
  • Patent number: 8121379
Abstract: A method of aligning image having the steps of obtaining a first image, the first image having a corresponding first data set, obtaining a second image, the second having a corresponding second data set; learning a joint intensity distribution from a pair of prealigned images, and aligning the first image and the second image by computing Earth Mover's Distance between their observed joint intensity distribution and the learned joint intensity distribution.
    Type: Grant
