  • Publication number: 20240112411
Abstract: Electronic devices can be used to generate virtual objects. In some examples, to reduce undesirable artifacts (e.g., flaws due to handshaking and/or hesitations) from occurring in the virtual object, a virtual pointer element is offset from a portion of an input device and is used to generate the virtual object in a three-dimensional environment. In some examples, to improve the visual characteristics of the generated virtual object, an elasticity model can be applied which includes various modes of physics. In some examples, sound is generated in response to movements of the virtual pointer element.

  • Publication number: 20240104875
Abstract: A three-dimensional computer-generated environment can be presented to a user. The user can create a virtual representation of a real-world object within the computer-generated environment by directing an input device towards the real-world object and tracing contours of the real-world object. The virtual representation can include voxels. The user can edit the virtual representation or create a new virtual object formed of voxels by depositing or removing voxels at virtual locations within the computer-generated environment based on selection inputs, release inputs, and optionally movement inputs detected by the input device. In some cases, the user can provide inputs via another input source, such as a hand of the user, that are detected by additional sensors or devices.

  • Publication number: 20240104841
Abstract: Some examples described in this disclosure are directed to devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for generating, updating, and/or presenting virtual objects in a computer-generated environment. In some examples, an electronic device presents a user interface for generating a virtual object corresponding to the real-world object detected by the electronic device, where the user interface includes selectable options corresponding to respective portions of the real-world object. In some examples, in response to receiving a selection of a first portion of the real-world object, the electronic device updates the user interface and corresponding selectable options according to the first portion of the real-world object.

  • Patent number: 10311647
Abstract: Apparatus, method and computer program for use in generating a three dimensional image. A three dimensional image volume comprising a three dimensional image is displayed using a visualization device in a way that the position and orientation of an input surface is visible within the three dimensional image volume. User input indicative of a two dimensional image provided in the plane of the input surface is received via the input surface. First positional data indicative of a relative position and orientation of the input surface in relation to the three dimensional image volume is then determined. Subsequently, the three dimensional image is modified to include a three dimensional representation of the two dimensional image, the three dimensional representation having a position and orientation within the three dimensional image volume determined from the first positional data.
