  • Patent number: 8721082
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for characterizing a perception of blur by a subject (10) in order to determine a dioptric blur value for an image (C) observed by the subject. The image has a blur generated by the low-pass filtering of the image components in accordance with the respective space frequencies of said image components. An indication of the perception thereof of blur in the image is provided by the subject and is associated with the dioptric blur value. Several images associated with different dioptric blur values are used for defining a dioptric blur threshold value for the subject that corresponds to a blur perception criterion. The invention can be used for adjusting the design of a progressive lens for the subject in accordance with the sensitivity to said visual blur of said object.

  • Patent number: 8573778
Abstract: A method for producing an ophthalmic spectacle lens makes it possible to fit out a wearer of lenses in a manner which is customized as a function of a perception of blur by said wearer. The lens is selected so that the wearer has the impression of having a field of sharp vision which has a reference width. This reference width is determined on the basis of a first lens which complies with the wearer's ophthalmic prescription and a reference threshold value of the blur. It is thereafter associated within the lens which is provided for the wearer with a threshold value of the blur which is perceived by this wearer.

  • Patent number: 8540366
Abstract: The invention relates to the making of a progressive spectacle lens for customizing the lens based on the blur perception by a future lens wearer. Accordingly, a blur threshold value is determined for the wearer according to a blur perception criterion that varies based on an optical-power addition value prescribed for the wearer. The blur threshold value is associated with a reference sight direction for the lens provided to the wearer.

  • Patent number: 8474979
Abstract: A method makes a customized progressive ophthalmic lens intended for an identified wearer that includes measurements of the inclination of the wearer's head. These measures are made when the wearer performs visual tasks in far-vision conditions, by consecutively looking horizontally, then towards the ground. A variation of the optical power of the progressive lens, below a reference direction for the far vision, is adjusted on the basis of the measure results. The habituation period of the wearer to the progressive lens can thus be reduced.

  • Patent number: 8414126
Abstract: A method for evaluating and/or improving dynamic visual perception of an individual, comprising: a) displaying on a screen (11) a moving pattern (12) having a chosen visual complexity feature (Simp), b) providing a human/machine interface (13, 14) enabling the individual to input a value to indicate the pattern that the individual sees on the screen, c) repeating the preceding steps in order to count the number of successive positive answers imputed at step b), and d1) if the number of successive positive comparisons exceeds a predetermined threshold (S1), increasing (S2) the pattern visual complexity feature of a chosen amount, d2) otherwise, lowering (S7) the pattern visual complexity feature of a chosen amount, e) repeating steps d1) and d2) and lowering (Appl h, S3; S8) the chosen amount each time an alternation between steps d1) and d2) is detected, until a predetermined number (THR) of alternations (Alter) is detected, in order to determine a maximum visual complexity feature (Simp) of patterns that the

Abstract: A method for producing an ophthalmic spectacle lens makes it possible to fit out a wearer of lenses in a manner which is customized as a function of a perception of blur by said wearer. The lens (V4) is selected so that the wearer has the impression of having a field of sharp vision which has a reference width. This reference width is determined on the basis of a first lens (V7) which complies with the wearer's ophthalmic prescription and a reference threshold value of the blur (BR). It is thereafter associated within the lens which is provided for the wearer with a threshold value (B0) of the blur which is perceived by this wearer.

  • Patent number: 8061838
Abstract: A progressive lens for ophthalmic spectacles has an additional zone for intermediate vision. This additional zone is located beneath a near-vision zone. It enables objects located at a distance of between 1.0 and 1.5 meters, in a direction inclined at about 35 degrees to a line of sight passing through a cross mark (CM) on the lens, to be seen clearly. To achieve this, the optical power progression between a far-vision point (FV) and a near-vision point (NV) of said lens has a power-increase threshold which is located approximately at the cross mark.
