  • Publication number: 20240131152
Abstract: This invention describes ways of obtaining nano-particulated adjuvants formed by different synthetic variants of GM3 ganglioside. Depending on the fine structure of the fatty acid in the ceramide of the synthetic GM3, said adjuvants are able to stimulate specifically and in a specialized way the humoral or cellular immune response against accompanying antigens. Particularly, this invention provides immunogenic vaccine compositions that comprise peptides, polypeptides or proteins and the aforementioned nanoparticles, which are formed through the dispersion of hydrophobic proteins of the outer membrane complex (OMC) of Neisseria meningitidis in solutions containing fully synthetic variants of the GM3 ganglioside.

  • Publication number: 20230152226
Abstract: An optical sensor is used to detect a target in a sample liquid. The optical sensor has an optical sensing layer including, in the same layer, a fluorescent reporter, a fluorescent reference, and an optical isolating reagent. The optical sensing layer has an outer surface that contacts the sample liquid and an opposing surface through which a light source irradiates the optical sensing layer with excitation light, and a detector detects fluorescence emitted from within the optical sensing layer. The optical isolating reagent reduces the amount of (i) excitation light that passes through the optical sensing layer and reaches the sample liquid and (ii) background fluorescence that is emitted within the sample liquid and passes back through the optical sensing layer to the detector. Accordingly, the optical reporter and optical reference fluorescence can be detected with higher signal to noise ratios than in the absence of the optical isolating reagent.

  • Publication number: 20220194098
Abstract: In example implementations, a system is provided. The system includes at least one fluid ejection apparatus, a heater and an energy source. The at least one fluid ejection apparatus dispenses a de-contented fluid onto a substrate during conveyance of the substrate. The heater is arranged after the at least one fluid ejection apparatus along a substrate conveying path. The heater removes a liquid from the de-contented fluid on the substrate such that the particles of the de-contented fluid remain on the substrate. The energy source is arranged after the heater along the substrate conveying path. The energy source applies energy to the substrate during the conveyance of the substrate to heat the substrate to a temperature that is approximately a melting temperature of the substrate to fuse the particles on the substrate to the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9741065
Abstract: A computer displays a first set of components available for selection by the customer for an IT solution. The computer receives, from the customer, selection of a first component included in the first set of components. The computer determines that subsequent use of the first component requires a service. The computer identifies and displays a second set of components based on compatibility with the first component and ability to use the same service as the first component. The computer receives selection, from the customer, a second component included in the second set of components. The computer designs the IT solution to (a) include the first component and the second component and (b) share the same service during use of the first component and the second component.

  • Patent number: 5350346
Abstract: A weight bench having a slidable seat construction includes a two piece slidable bench which is pivotally connected to the frame of a weight bench. A sleeve, designed to travel along a frame member, supports the seat portion of the bench at a pivotal attachment and by an angle adjusting bracket mechanism. A back rest portion of the bench is pivotally attached at one end thereof to the sleeve. The other end is connected to the frame by a support which is pivotally attached to both to the frame and the underside of the back rest portion. The sleeve is lockable in a given position along the length of the frame member providing support therefor. Sliding movement of the bench produces simultaneous adjustment of the inclination of the back rest due to the double pivotal attachment of the support. The sliding seat assembly is particularly adapted for weight benches having uprights with barbell supports.
