  • Publication number: 20130254001
Abstract: Consumer satisfaction and revenue both have the potential to increase through the conversion of a digital media item from a rental to a purchase. After the rental of a digital media item, the occurrence of a predefined event can trigger the display of a conversion opportunity on a client device. The predefined event can include identifying that the digital media item has previously been rented, detecting that the digital media item has been paused or playback has reached a predefined point, or detecting the expiration of the rental period. In some cases, the digital media item can be offered for purchase at a discounted rate based on the rental history or in a different level of quality.
