  • Patent number: 11788372
Abstract: A bottom hole assembly comprising a downhole tool known as a cutting tool is provided for use within a subterranean well for severing tubulars. The cutting tool comprises a fluid source, a gas-driven rotatable motor and a cutting head including one or more cutters. The fluid source supplies pressurized fluid and thereby energy to the gas-driven rotatable motor which is disposed to generate thrust to set the gas-driven rotatable motor in motion. The cutting head is coupled to the gas-driven rotatable motor and rotates while cutting the tubular. The cutting tool can be deployed in a subterranean well by a variety of deployment methods, and the pressurized fluid may be supplied from a surface system, generated inside the cutting tool or bottom hole assembly, or input within the cutting tool or bottom hole assembly prior to deployment. The invention further relates to associated methods.

  • Patent number: 10150535
Abstract: Offloading cargo from a cargo vessel and delivering the cargo to a cargo recipient, or loading cargo onto the cargo vessel from a cargo supplier, may be performed using a cargo vessel which is spread moored at sea to a plurality of mooring points for mooring the cargo vessel in a desired orientation. Alternatively, the cargo vessel may be rotatably moored. Tubing may be provided and configured to be connected to the vessel for fluid communication between the vessel and the cargo recipient or the cargo supplier, and may comprise a first portion configured to be connected to the cargo vessel and a second portion configured to be connected to the cargo recipient or the cargo supplier. A semi-submersible unit may be operable to travel across the sea and carry part of the tubing from a stand-by location to a position adjacent to the cargo vessel, so as to allow an end of the first portion of the tubing to be connected the cargo vessel for offloading or loading the cargo.

  • Patent number: 10125580
Abstract: A sand screen for installation in a well includes a flow-through element having a center line running in the longitudinal direction of the flow-through element; and a filtration device. The flow-through element has an internal cavity extending over at least parts of a length of the flow-through element. There are a plurality of openings over the length of the flow-through element. The openings, via the filtration device, provide communication between an outer surface of the flow-through element and the internal cavity. The sand screen is flexible in a radial direction and in an axial direction.

  • Patent number: 9482232
Abstract: A pump includes at least one pump section. The pump section has a center line and comprises at least two pump steps. The pump steps have a center line and each pump step comprising a motor and one or more pump stages. The at least one pump section includes an outer casing enclosing one or more inner casings. The outer casing forms an enclosure round the pump section and has a larger diameter than the inner casings. The inner casings form an enclosure round the at least two pump steps. The center line of the pump section is displaced relative to the center line of the pump steps, thereby forming an annulus between the outer casing and the inner casing.
