Patent number: 11936515Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for supporting efficient reconfiguration of an interconnection network having a pre-existing routing. An exemplary method can provide a plurality of switches, a plurality of end nodes, and one or more subnet managers, including a master subnet manager. The method can calculate, via the master subnet manager, a first set of one or more leaf-switch to leaf-switch multipaths. The method can store this first set of one or more leaf-switch to leaf-switch multipaths at a metabase. The method can detect a reconfiguration triggering event, and call a new routing for the interconnection network. Finally, the method can reconfigure the network according to the new routing for the interconnection network.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: ORACLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventors: Feroz Zahid, Bartosz Bogdanski, Bjørn Dag Johnsen, Ernst Gunnar Gran

Patent number: 11930075Abstract: Systems and methods for supporting efficient virtualization in a lossless interconnection network. An exemplary method can provide, one or more switches, including at least a leaf switch, a plurality of host channel adapters, wherein each of the host channel adapters comprise at least one virtual function, at least one virtual switch, and at least one physical function, a plurality of hypervisors, and a plurality of virtual machines, wherein each of the plurality of virtual machines are associated with at least one virtual function. The method can arrange the plurality of host channel adapters with one or more of a virtual switch with prepopulated local identifiers (LIDs) architecture or a virtual switch with dynamic LID assignment architecture. The method can assign each virtual switch with a LID. The method can calculate one or more linear forwarding tables based at least upon the LIDs assigned to each of the virtual switches.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2022Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: ORACLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventors: Evangelos Tasoulas, Feroz Zahid, Bjørn Dag Johnsen, Ernst Gunnar Gran

Patent number: 8814617Abstract: In a thruster for a vessel including a hull, the thruster comprises at least one tunnel element and at least one thruster unit. The tunnel element includes at least a part of a through tunnel in the hull when arranged in the hull. The at least one thruster unit and the at least one tunnel element include cooperating fastening devices for detachably fixing the at least one thruster unit in the at least one tunnel element such that the at least one thruster unit is configured to be passed through the tunnel and mounted to the at least one tunnel element, or demounted from the at least one tunnel element and passed out of the tunnel. A method for mounting and demounting a thruster in a tunnel element includes a tunnel element arranged in the vessel of a hull.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2010Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: Rolls-Royce Marine ASInventors: Ole Arnt Marholm, Gunnar Johnsen, Dag Brandal
