  • Patent number: 5551778
Abstract: A device for mixing and discharging bone cement has a mixing cylinder which consists of two cylinder parts and in which an openworked mixing plunger can be moved axially. The lower cylinder part is sealed off by a discharging plunger. A separating plunger is arranged axially displaceably in the mixing cylinder between the mixing plunger and the discharging plunger, which separating plunger seals off the one cylinder part before the two cylinder parts are connected. The separating plunger has through-flow channels through which a liquid monomer can flow from the lower cylinder part to a pulverulent polymer in the upper cylinder part at the start of the mixing procedure.

  • Patent number: 4806238
Abstract: The invention relates to a chromatography column consisting of a metal tube which is filled with a sorbent and is provided with distribution elements and sealing elements at both ends. A screw connection for connecting capillaries which consists of at least one support nut attached to the column tube and a union nut are provided. The support nut is supported against two removable collar half-shells and can thus be removed from the column tube when the union nut is unscrewed.

  • Patent number: 4737284
Abstract: The invention relates to a chromatography columns, consisting of metal tubes which are filled with sorbent and which are provided at both ends with distributed and sealing elements. Screw unions for connecting capillaries are utilized, which unions consist at least of a supporting nut fitted to the column tube and a cap nut. The supporting nuts consist of two half-shells which can be removed from the column tube after the cap nut has been unscrewed. By so configuring the columns, the same tube column can optionally accommodate precolumns.
