  • Patent number: 4514859
Abstract: A collimator for an X-ray examination apparatus has a plurality of diaphragm plates adjustable relative to each other in pairs for defining a cone of radiation having a variable rectangular cross-section, and has a plurality of additional diaphragm plates mounted for pivotal movement into the four corner regions of the radiation cone for defining an approximately circular radiation cone of variable diameter. Each additional diaphragm plate has a substantially triangular plan shape and are movable by respective parallelogram linkages with one edge facing the radiation cone, the edge facing the radiation cone being alignable perpendicularly to the angle bisector of the respective corner in which the additional diaphragm plate is located. The additional diaphragms are respectively pivotable substantially radially in the direction of the axis of symmetry of the collimator.

  • Patent number: 4310766
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, an x-ray grid for shielding the film from stray radiation is formed of two U-shaped metal plates with interfitted sections at the respective sides, projecting laterally for coupling the grid to its drive and guidance elements. Known stray radiation grids are mounted in a metal plate frame which is moved by means of the motor drive. The disclosure shows a way by means of which the plate metal frame can be avoided and the structural thickness can be reduced. In a preferred embodiment, one guide section can be brought into releasable positive locking engagement with a support mounting part of the motor drive, and the other guide section is releasably engageable in a channel guideway of the housing, so that the two plates and interfitted sections with their enclosed lead (Pb) lamellae can be quickly removed and replaced when required.

  • Patent number: 3976887
Abstract: An X-ray examination apparatus, including an adjustable optical X-ray diaphragm or focusing means; and an examination table having a cassette drawer carriage displaceable along the examination table located directly below the patient support platform of the examination table, and a cassette drawer which is insertable into the cassette drawer carriage having two pairs of clamping members each with two mutually oppositely movably adjustable clamping jaws for the retention of the X-ray film cassettes inserted into the cassette drawer. In an X-ray examination apparatus of the above-mentioned type, each clamping jaw pair is itself displaceable within the cassette drawer in the two adjusting directions for the associated clamping jaws, at the clamping of an X-ray film cassette in the cassette drawer, pursuant to the selected film division.
