  • Patent number: 5224815
Abstract: An industrial truck designed, for example, as a counterweight fork lift truck has a lifting stand 2, which is pivotable around a tilting axis N situated crosswise to the vehicular longitudinal axis in the front area of the vehicle in a lifting stand support. The counterweight fork lift truck is also provided with a monitoring unit for detecting and indicating the loading state, which has at least one measuring device located in the lifting stand support. The measuring device designed, for example, as a strain gauge 12, 13 picks up the vertical bearing forces and the horizontal ones parallel to the vehicular longitudinal axis, F.sub.V and F.sub.H. The measuring device is connected with a data storage unit 13, which is connected to a loading state indicator 14. Both static and dynamic loads on the fork lift truck can be indicated.

  • Patent number: 4854278
Abstract: A vehicle with a noise-damped drive assembly is disclosed which includes a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine having a radiator with a cooling fluid running therethrough and located in a stream of air. An exhaust manifold having a drive assembly connected thereto is provided. The drive assembly is surrounded by a noise-damping case which has at least one air inlet opening located in a lower front portion of the case in a direction of travel of the vehicle. The case also has at least one air outlet opening located in an upper back portion of the case in the direction of travel. The radiator and exhaust manifold located outside of the case.

  • Patent number: 4768606
Abstract: A machine component, such as a steering axle is provided as an elongate member having a hydraulic cylinder connected thereto intermediate the ends of the elongate member, said cylinder having an end plate at each end, a piston in said cylinder with piston rods extending from each end of said cylinder through said end plates and pivots supporting each of said end plates on said elongate member whereby said end plates may pivot by a small amount around said pivots.

  • Patent number: 4432424
Abstract: A lift loader is provided having two drive motors, each of which drives a vehicle wheel through a gearing arrangement located in a separate transmission housing, in which case each transmission housing is designed as a supporting structural component and is flanged at each transmission housing of the assigned drive motor and supports a wheel hub, in which case a closed vehicle frame is formed by the fact that two lateral struts project out from a rear cross bar, which advantageously can be the counterweight, where one of the two transmission housings is attached to each of these lateral struts toward the front, and where the two drive motors, each flanged at one end on a transmission housing, are connected with each other at the opposite ends such that together they form a front cross bar for the frame.

  • Patent number: 4189025
Abstract: A hydraulically operated steering assembly for a floor-type industrial vehicle, such as a fork-lift truck, comprises an elongated axial body upon which the axle carriers for the respective wheel axles are mounted at its ends. The pivot axes between the knuckle and the axle body and between the hydraulic cylinder and the axle body coincide, i.e., the cylinder and the knuckle are pivoted coaxially on the body and preferably within the latter.

  • Patent number: 4161327
Abstract: An axle assembly for steerable wheels of a vehicle, especially an industrial floor vehicle such as a forklift truck, is designed to permit a maximum steering displacement of the wheels by mounting the wheels on axle carriers pivotal upon an axle housing and displacing each of these carriers by a respective tie bar. The tie bars are pivotally connected to a central member which, in turn, is swingable upon the axle housing. Each of the tie bars has a substantially rectangular cross section and the two bars have the same bending strength and stiffness in the plane of the bars perpendicular to the axes at which the bars are pivoted to the common central member independently and to the respective axle carriers.

  • Patent number: 3970171
Abstract: A load-lifting assembly for a fork-lift truck has a mast formed of three telescoping tubes, an inner tube secured to the support, an intermediate tube slidable on the inner tube, and an outer tube slidable on the intermediate tube and carrying a carriage on which the fork is mounted. A cable or chain has one end secured to the intermediate tube and is passed over a roller on the top end of the outer tube and secured to the carriage. The three-stage ram has a first member inside the inner tube and secured to the support, a second tubular member slidable on the first member and linked to the intermediate tube, and a third member slidable on the intermediate member and secured to the outer tube. The effective piston area of the third member is greater than that of the second member so that on pressurization of the interior of the ram the third member will move up relative to the first and second members before the second member moves up.
