  • Patent number: 4836348
Abstract: A synchronizing mechanism for clutches comprises a gearshift sleeve provided with locking teeth coacting with locking teeth of a synchronizer ring and with separate coupling teeth coacting with the coupling teeth of clutch bodies. The locking teeth of the gearshift sleeve are provided with undercuts whose flanks exhibit substantially the same angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the teeth as the wedge surfaces formed on the ends of the coupling teeth of the clutch bodies. Once synchronism has been reached, these undercuts enable the unit formed by the clutch body and the synchronizer ring to be rotated relative to the gearshift sleeve so that the coupling teeth of the gearshift sleeve can be introduced without any resistance between the coupling teeth of the clutch body.

  • Patent number: 4817773
Abstract: In synchronizing mechanisms for clutches having arranged between the clutch body (10) and the axially displaceable gear shift sleeve, each of which are provided with a toothing, a synchronizing ring (14) with teeth (33) having inclined check faces (35, 36) provided on their ends facing the gear shift sleeve, which check faces (35, 36) coact with matching check faces (37, 38) on the ends of the teeth (34) of the gear shift sleeve, it is provided for the purpose of reducing cold scratch that the check faces on the ends of the teeth (34) of the gear shift sleeve are designed asymmetrically in such a manner that the check faces (37) leading in the sense of rotation (28) have a greater axial extension than the check faces (38) trailing in the sense of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4640141
Abstract: A gearbox-transmission, especially for power vehicles, with synchronized reverse gear, an intermediate-gearwheel providing for the reversal of direction consists of two loose-gearwheels located on the same axis which is beside the input and output shafts, of which the one loose gearwheel engages the input-shaft via a loose-gearwheel and the fixed-gearwheel of one forward-gear, and the other engages the output-shaft via the loose-gearwheel and the fixed-gearwheel of another forward-gear. The two reverse gear loose-gearwheels are connectable with each other by means of a shift-clutch. In this way no additional gearwheels are needed on the input- and output-shaft for the reverse-gear so that the structural length of such a transmission can correspondingly be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4561532
Abstract: In an arrangement embracing an internal combustion engine and transmission, intended in particular for use in motor vehicles, the crankshaft is split on the side of the flywheel (6) facing the engine and the crankshaft sections are interconnected via a torsionally elastic intermediate member (9). The crankshaft section (5) carrying the flywheel (6) may be seated in a bearing (4) disposed in an intermediate flange rigidly connected with the transmission housing (1). Further, the housings (1, 2) of the engine and the transmission may also be connected via elastic elements (31).

  • Patent number: 4378710
Abstract: The invention relates to a variable-speed transmission for motor cars, in particular a manual gear-box in the form of a synchronized lay-shaft transmission having several forward speeds and one reverse motion, in which the gears of the reverse motion (11, 12) are also constantly meshing and in which the pairs of gears are selectively shifted into the flux of forces by means of a shifting clutch (13). In order to permit low-noise shifting into the reverse motion, the latter (11, 12) is provided with a synchronizer unit (17, 23).
