Patent number: 5712467Abstract: A heated galette is provided with a heating unit and a temperature sensor connected in a control circuit with the heating unit to maintain a certain temperature of the surface of the galette on which a synthetic yarn is guided. The control circuit is disconnected periodically or intermittently so that the heating unit can be heated independently of the feedback control provided by the control unit. Upon the heating unit attaining an equilibrium with temperature, a first actual value temperature is measured and a difference is obtained from a setpoint temperature corresponding to a given control ratio and a signal representing the difference is generated. Utilizing this system, it is possible to detect failure of the temperature sensor and/or the heating unit or inappropriate positioning of the temperature sensor.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1996Date of Patent: January 27, 1998Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Derrick Straka, Gunter Konig

Patent number: 5465916Abstract: An apparatus for winding a synthetic-resin yarn on a spool of predetermined outside diameter has a friction drive roller rotatable about a drive axis and having a substantially cylindrical outer surface of predetermined length centered on the drive axis. A drive can rotate this roller about the drive axis at a substantially constant speed. A support adjacent the friction roller holds the spool for rotation about a spool axis generally parallel to the drive axis and with the spool in radial contact with the surface of the drive roller. A radially outwardly projecting ridge carried on the support axially offset from the surface of the friction roller is of greater outside diameter than the spool. Guides feed the yarn initially to the ridge for winding of the yarn thereon and thereafter for feeding the yarn to the spool for winding of the yarn on the spool.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1993Date of Patent: November 14, 1995Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventor: Gunter Konig

Patent number: 5425227Abstract: In a textile-processing operation wherein a filament is displaced longitudinally continuously past a treatment station and a liquid is applied to the moving filament at the station, a supply of the liquid is held in a container spaced from the station and connected via a conduit to an applicator at the station. Space above the liquid in the container is filled with a gas that is devoid of free oxygen and that is in direct contact with the liquid. This gas above the liquid is pressurized in the container to controlledly force the liquid from the container through the conduit to the applicator at the station. The liquid is kept out of contact with oxygen until it actually has been applied to the filament. In fact the filament is passed over a small-diameter orifice formed in a guide and the liquid is forced from the orifice. The filament directly engages the guide at the orifice and covers the orifice so that the liquid does not contact the ambient air until after it is applied to the filament.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1993Date of Patent: June 20, 1995Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventor: Gunter Konig

Patent number: 4719745Abstract: A texturizing machine for false-twist crimping of synthetic yarns having a plurality of work stations at each of which yarn is drawn by feed rolls from supply bobbins and guided successively through a heating device, a cooling device and a texturizing unit to a group of superjacent bobbin winding units, with the bobbin winding unit groups being arranged in longitudinal succession along the length of the machine. A pair of opposed spaced longitudinaly extending support frames define an operator service passageway therebetween. The heating devices, cooling devices and texturizing units are disposed adjacent the passageway with the yarn being guided over the passageway. The bobbin winding units are mounted on the opposed frames on both sides of the passageway with the groups of bobbin winding units alternately mounted successively on opposite frames longitudinally of the machine with the yarns of successive bobbin winding unit groups being guided in opposite directions over the passageway.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1987Date of Patent: January 19, 1988Assignee: Zinser Textilmachinen GmbHInventor: Gunter Konig

Patent number: 4371121Abstract: A high speed yarn winding device performing a parallel winding, with the winding having yarn windings which intersect within each winding layer. The parallel winding is formed on a sleeve rotatably and interchangeably mounted on a carrying device through a driven friction roller. The friction roller is partially looped by the yarn to be wound on and a yarn winding body involved in a winding of the yarn abuts at its outer circumference with the friction roller. A guide bar is adapted to execute lifting movements parallel to an axis of rotation of the friction roller, with the bar carrying a rotatably mounted wheel driven by the yarn fed to it and coming in contact with it and superimposing much more rapid and shorter modulating strokes on the relatively slow lifting movements of the guide bar. To improve the winding conditions of the yarn and the composition of the parallel winding, the wheel has at least one round drive surface concentric to the axis of rotation.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1981Date of Patent: February 1, 1983Assignee: Zinser-Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Horst Feiler, Gunter Konig
