Abstract: An apparatus for the compaction of foundry mold making material using gas under pressure, comprises a pressure vessel for the such gas, a mold flask, a filling frame, a pattern plate and a pattern thereon onto which the material is to be loosely heaped. The flask, frame and plate form a mold chamber under the pressure vessel and between them there a valve is placed, the valve having a movable valve member adapted to open up a flow cross section of the valve predominantly under the effect of gas under pressure in the pressure vessel. The valve member is guided within the pressure vessel, with the valve member being adapted to perform an opening motion, which at least mainly directed into the mold chamber.

Abstract: A transfer press for a stepwise deformation of workpieces includes a plurality of stages arranged in a series and an arrangement for intermittently advancing the workpieces from one stage to a successive stage. Some of the stages are work stages for deforming the workpieces by workpiece-deforming tools and at least one of the stages is an empty stage void of tools. There is further provided a workpiece-supporting arrangement situated in the empty stage for supporting a workpiece while the workpiece dwells in the empty stage and a tool-supporting table normally situated in a work stage in a working position adjacent the empty stage and being displaceable for effecting tool replacement thereon.

Abstract: For the exchange of tools in a press, the tools, including their associated gripper rail sections, are moved out of the press on a sliding table having a gripper rail support. To ensure that the gripper rails do not block access to the tool, the gripper rail support is adjustable in height. This permits lowering of the gripper rails sections to the extent that access to the tool is unimpeded.
