  • Patent number: 5052242
Abstract: This device, of the type comprising a fixed part including a support element (1) adapted to be fixed on one part of the frame or the handle bar of the bicycle and a moveable part (2) including an operating hand-lever (3) which can rotate relative to the support element, a control mechanism (9) of which a first part (11) co-operates with the fixed part of the device and of which a second part (10) co-operates with the moveable part of the latter and a cable for actuation of the derailleur-gear, is characterized in that the cable for acutation of the derailleur-gear is connected to an actuation plug (4), rotated by the operating hand-lever (3) and on which are provided the control mechanism (9) and the means (16) for attaching the moveable part of the device to the fixed part of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4862395
Abstract: The data display instrument for a bicycle comprises an LCD field having an analog scale field to display the momentary travelling speed and an analog scale field to display the pedalling speed. The scale fields are automatically switchable to two measuring ranges. Furthermore, two digital numerical fields are provided in which a multiplicity of information concerning the riding situation can be displayed in dependence on the travelling speed. In addition to the momentary speed and the momentary pedalling speed which are displayed in the scale fields, the digital fields will during travel display the distance travelled since a last reset and the average speed. Immediately after the bicycle comes to a standstill, the digital fields will indicate the travelling time since the last reset and the maximum speed. After a predetermined period of time has elapsed during which the bicycle continues to remain immobile, the digital fields will indicate the total distance travelled and the wheel diameter.

  • Patent number: 4820979
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic instrument for use on a bicycle and intended to indicate to the bicycle operator measuring values like actual speed or actual distance covered by the bicycle. The electronic instrument is provided with two signal receiving components on both sides of the middle plane so that the instrument can be mounted on both sides of the respective wheel of the bicycle.

  • Patent number: 4800634
Abstract: A hub sleeve for a bicycle hub is manufactured by cold-swaging or forging. The hub sleeve is integrally provided with ball bearing faces and with internal torque transmission teeth. The torque transmission teeth are obtained by radial dislocation of the wall material of the hub sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4793214
Abstract: The planet wheel carrier for a planetary gearing, especially a cycle multi-speed hub, comprises two annular discs (1) of substantially like form shape-stamped out of sheet metal material which are arranged coaxially and in mirror-image to one another each comprising several circumferentially mutually offset cylindrical bearing journals (5) pressed out of the sheet metal material and bridge dogs (11) pressed out of the sheet metal material in the same axial direction between the bearing journals (5) in the circumferential direction. The bearing journals (5) of the two annular discs (1) are aligned by pairs in the mirror-image arrangement and rotatably mount the planet gear wheels (7) arranged axially between the annular discs (1). The bridge dogs (11) lie against one another and are connected firmly with one another by securing means, for example rivets (15). Toothings (17) are provided on the internal circumference of the annular discs (1) for torque transmission.
