  • Patent number: 4953813
Abstract: An ejectable or launchable member which possesses a storage space for a parachute. An ejectable member of the type which is under consideration herein has the dimensions of the constructional elements reduced in the periphery of a parachute cassette, so as to resultingly provide for savings in deployment weight, and at a given caliber, to be able to increase the amount of storage space which is available for the parachute.

  • Patent number: 4848235
Abstract: A rotating submunition member which, subsequent to ejection from a carrier, incorporates a target detection device projecting outwardly beyond the wall contour of the member in an operating position; and a fuze arrangement for a detonator which is disposed interiorly of the wall of the submunition. The submunition member is equipped with a securing or safe-and-arm device in which the detonator is located on a movable mounting or holder, which is displaceable through the intermediary of a spring-elastic power element from the SAFE position of the detonator into its ARMED position, when a flyweight has tensioned the power element and the target detection device is displaced into its operative position projecting beyond the wall contour of the submunition member.

  • Patent number: 4704965
Abstract: A blind-setting or protective blocking device for a detonator, in particular for a detonator of a launched bomb, in which a release or tripping lever maintains a securing slider in a secured position. The tripping lever is maintained against the force of a spring through the intermediary of two latching elements, wherein, as a rule, the first latching element is released by an electronic circuit of the detonator within the launch tube or barrel, and the second latching element is released by the circuit subsequent to exiting from the launch tube, as a result of which the securing slider is placed into the armed position. The tripping lever is equipped with a projection which is associated with a contact stop on the securing slider, and in which the projection, in the secured position, is located outside of the path of movement of the contact stop, and pivots into the path of movement of the contact stop when the second latching element is also released prior to exiting from the launch tube.

  • Patent number: 4138946
Abstract: An ignition or firing voltage generator adapted to be actuated only proximate the peak of an inertial force and, in its equilibrium position will not emit a voltage even when subjected to hard shocks. A piezoceramic cell, as well as a solid body which is arranged axially adjacent thereto, are located within a preferably cylindrical support member which is axially displaceably guided within a tubularly-shaped component of an igniter housing, but in the initial position thereof is so restrained through the utilization of a securing element in the configuration of a shear element, spring fastener or the like, that its base is located at a defined spacing opposite a base plate of the igniter or detonator housing. A securing element of that type, without difficulty, may be so dimensioned that it will only first release the support member, when it is influenced by approximately the maximum inertial force.
