  • Patent number: 8172595
Abstract: A connector (1) impermeable to liquids, having two matching connector parts (3) and (5), which is sealed in a connected position by at least one peripherally extending circumferential sealing ring (6) provided between the connector pats (3) and (5). The plug-in position is secured by a rotatable, axially fixed threaded bushing (8), which is fixed in the axial direction, but rotatably supported on one of the connector parts, and the internal thread (9) of which is mated to the holding thread (10) on the other connector part. A further thread or projection or threaded part (12) mating with the interior thread (9) is provided in a loosening direction at a distance from the holding thread (10) interacting with the threaded bushing (8), and a distance A from the end of the holding thread (10) to that of the further thread (12) is greater than a plug-in depth of the connecting pins (2) into the bushings (4).

  • Patent number: 7850485
Abstract: A plug connector having a housing located at a plate opening in an operating position, and the plug connector contains wires and/or braids of a cable and electrical contacts. Assembly on the plate is realized by a flange plate attached to the outside of the housing having an interior recess with an interior dimension for engaging the housing of the plug connector. The flange plate is constructed as a single piece, and one of the interior recesses has a continuous slot extending to the outside, which slot acts as a clamp slot with the interior dimension of the interior recess being made smaller by narrowing the slot, and an arrangement is provided, by which the flange plate can be pressed in and thus clamped onto the outside of the housing. Preferably, the slot is reduced by at least one clamp screw with locking threads, or a lock nut.

  • Patent number: 7033211
Abstract: An electrical angular pin-and-socket connector (1) is provided which includes two individual, separate angle legs (2) and (5). The second angle leg (5) includes a receiving opening (8) which opens perpendicularly to the profile of the angle leg, and in which a plug-in section (9) of the first angle leg (2) can be plugged and fitted, the two angle legs (2) and (5) being intermated in a functional position. In order to mutually lock the two angle legs in the functional position, an opening (10) extending perpendicularly to the axial extension of the first angle leg (2) is created through the second angle leg (5), in the cover or contact region inside the receiving opening (8), and part of the cross-section of the opening is respectively present in the contact region of the two angle legs, in such a way that a fixing screw (6) passing through the opening (10) or borehole positively grips the two angle legs and mutually locks the same.

  • Patent number: 6935886
Abstract: A plug connector has, in a housing, an insulating member, which in a known manner receives contact elements, for example, contact pins and/or contact sockets, which are connected to individual wires or strands of an electrical cable. The plug connector also includes a clamping member or clamping insert in order to also fix the electrical cable relative to the housing, which takes place by a clamping nut, preferably by a union nut. In order to easily assemble these parts and to maintain a given spacing in the axial direction, the insulating member and the clamping member are connected by at least one, and preferably a plurality of spacers, with a radially open interspace remaining free laterally of the spacers, and between insulating member and clamping member. The insulating member and the clamping member are preferably separate parts, which can be reciprocally connected by the spacers.

  • Patent number: 4919599
Abstract: Leak detecting device working on the counter current principle uses a test piece connected to the inlet of a first turbomolecular pump, a gas detector connected to the inlet of a second turbomolecular pump. First and second molecular pumps downstream of the respective turbomolecular pumps have a common outlet connected to a pre-vacuum pump and reduce the effect of test gas substratum. Both turbomolecular and other molecular pumps are on a common shaft, the passages between each turbomolecular and molecular pumping stage being connected.

  • Patent number: 4779449
Abstract: Leak detector operating according to the countercurrent principle is used in a leak detection method and includes a first high vacuum pump having an inlet which is connected to an inlet of the leak detector, a second high vacuum pump having an inlet which is connected to a mass spectrometer, and a first roughing pump having an inlet which is connected to the outlets of the first and second high vacuum pump respectively. In order, on the one hand, to detect particularly large leaks and, on the other hand, avoid overloads due to high test gas concentrations, a second roughing pump is provided having an inlet which may be selectably connected to one of the inlet of the leak detector via a conduit equipped with a control valve and to the inlet of the first roughing pump by way of a conduit equipped with a choke.

  • Patent number: 4729241
Abstract: A measuring head for a vacuum gauge. An essentially cylindrical housing encloses a measuring cell which is sealed in a vacuum tight manner against the surrounding atmosphere and is connectable with an evacuatable cavity. A measuring filament for producing an electrical signal corresponding to the pressure in the measuring cell is disposed in the measuring cell. The measuring filament is disposed approximately perpendicularly to the axial direction of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4729242
Abstract: A conduction-responsive meter head has a device having electrical conduction responsive to a condition such as pressure to be metered. The device communicates with the condition to provide its electrical-conduction response to a bridge electrically including the device. A power supply has two terminals on the meter head for providing electrical power to the bridge. The measurement signal from the bridge is provided, however, to a third terminal by a lead from the bridge.

  • Patent number: 4645413
Abstract: A friction pump (molecular pump, turbomolecular pump) has pumping surfaces which include surface areas which face upstream as well as surface areas which face downstream with respect to the pumping direction. In at least a portion of the pumping surfaces, surface areas of different roughness are present, such that the roughness of the surface areas facing downstream with respect to the pumping direction is greater than the roughness of the surface areas facing upstream with respect to the pumping direction.

  • Patent number: 4550593
Abstract: A turbomolecular pump for counterflow leakage tests and the method of its use arranges two, tandem turbomolecular pump stages for pumping toward each other and connects opposite ends of the tandem pump stages respectively to a container or test tank through which a test gas is provided when there is a leak and a detector for detecting the test gas. A connection between the tandem pump stages connects to a forepump for assisting the turbomolecular pump. Arranging the turbomolecular pump in this way permits different pressures in the container or test tank and detector, as is often desired when, for example, the detector is a mass spectrometer, without partition and conduit arrangements therefor.

  • Patent number: 4262522
Abstract: A method of operating a gas examining apparatus which has a gas examining device such as a mass spectrometer, a chamber communicating with the gas examining device, a gas pump communicating with the chamber and a probe hose coupled to the chamber for introducing into the apparatus gas to be examined. According to the method, in case probe hoses of different lengths or different quantities are used, the gas examination is so performed that the pressure in the above-mentioned chamber arranged upstream of the gas examining apparatus is maintained constant.

  • Patent number: 4172477
Abstract: In order to evacuate a receptacle using a pumping arrangement composed of a backing pump connected to the receptacle and a fine or high vacuum pump connected to the receptacle via a cold trap, the receptacle is initially evacuated only by operation of the backing pump, the time taken to achieve a predetermined initial pressure reduction in the receptacle only by the action of the backing pump is measured, then, on the basis of the magnitude of such pressure reduction and the measured time period, the subsequent time period which would be required, if the effect of condensable gases in the receptacle were ignored, to reach a predetermined second pressure, lower than the first pressure, in the operating range of the fine or high vacuum pump is calculated, and the receptacle is then evacuated by operation of the fine or high vacuum pump at the expiration of the subsequent time period.
