  • Publication number: 20040026356
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for storing liquids comprised of a plastic container, which is produced by a blowing process, which has a single layer or multilayer wall, and which is provided with at least one filling and emptying opening. The aim of the invention is, on the one hand, to economically manufacture a device of the aforementioned type by using inexpensive forming tools and, on the other hand, to be able to transport the device from the production site to the storing site also without incurring large expenditures. To this end, the container (1) is formed from at least two separately manufactured and largely identical container parts (2, 3), each of which comprising an approximately rectangular cross section with an underside (4) and a upper side (5) and having a height that is considerably greater than the largest cross section measure.

  • Patent number: 6308830
Abstract: A device for protecting a large-volume container for liquid, slow-flowing, powdered, or granular materials during storage and transport, has a pallet support body to support the container from underneath and a jacket body, which is connected to the pallet support body and which surrounds the sides of the container. The support body and the jacket body are made as an integral unit consisting of a three-layer plastic wall. The three-layer plastic wall has a compact outer layer, a compact inner layer, and a foamed intermediate layer. The device is produced by extruding a predetermined length of a tubular preform with a three-layer wall of plastic into an opened mold. Several vertical, rod-shaped spreading elements are positioned inside the tubular preform. The tubular preform is expanded by moving the spreading elements in a radially outward direction relative to the tubular preform by a predetermined outward movement.

  • Patent number: 5055023
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing large-volume hollow bodies of plastics material with multiple-layer walls. The apparatus defines an accumulation chamber and has a nozzle outlet. A plurality of material layers are joined into a multiple-layer plastic material melt within a tubular plunger which is movable in axial direction of the apparatus. The multiple-layer plastics material melt is conducted in a flow duct which widens in the shape of a funnel toward the accumulation chamber. The tubular plunger is forced by the melt to move in axial direction away from the nozzle outlet. The material melt is ejected as a multiple-layer extruded material by moving the tubular plunger in axial direction toward the nozzle outlet.

  • Patent number: 5034179
Abstract: In the discontinuous manufacture of multilayer, co-extruded, hose-like thermoplastics material preforms used in the production of large volume multilayer hollow members in a divided blow mold, at least two different annular shaped material melts are brought together in series within an axially extending annular piston to form a multilayer material melt. An annular flow channel in the piston receives the layers of material melt. The flow channel widens in a funnel-like manner toward an annular storage space. The preform is subsequently ejected from the storage space through an annular nozzle gap by the annular piston moving in its axial direction. The annular piston acts as a co-extrusion head and is pressed upward by the multilayer material melts. In supplying the material melts from extruders into the flow channel of the piston, the material melts flow first in the extrusion direction and then are redirected for flow radially inwardly into the flow channel of the piston.

  • Patent number: 4679357
Abstract: A method of displacing or feeding the honing tool of a honing machine dur long stroke honing when machining workpiece bores. Rapid displacement feeding or and subsequent machining displacement or stock removal feeding are effected with only a single motor employed in common for different operation, which is controlled in such a way that during rapid feeding or displacement it operates at high speed and low limiting angular momentum or torque limit. Due to the low angular momentum or torque limit during rapid displacement, the speed is rapidly reduced when the honing stones come to rest agianst the bore wall. The control mechanism thereupon reverses the single motor, returns the honing stones by a small amount, and changes over to the machining or stock removal feeding process, which is accomplished at low motor speed and high limiting angular momentum. When a pretermined finished size has been achieved, a displacement control mechanism returns the honing tool to its starting position.

  • Patent number: 4256999
Abstract: A control system for the stroke limitation of a machine tool element in which the element is connected with the slider of a potentiometer so that the voltage on the potentiometer slider varies in a respective direction with each direction of movement of the tool element. A pair of adjustable resistors are provided which form voltage sources with voltages conforming substantially to that of the potentiometer slider at the desired points of reversal of the tool element. The slider voltage is compared with the voltage at the adjustable resistors and the tool element is reversed when the slider voltage bears a predetermined relation to the voltage with which it is compared. A selectively adjustable delay could also be provided to delay the reversing of the tool element at at least one of the limits of travel thereof.

  • Patent number: 4173847
Abstract: A feeding device, especially for a honing tool, in which a frame is formed with a cylinder having a piston mounted therein and to which is connected a spindle or feed rod having the tools mounted thereon. The piston will effect rapid advance and retraction of the feed rod while the connection of the piston to the feed rod embodies threaded means which can be adjusted incrementally or manually to effect fine feeding movement of the tools following the rapid advance thereof. Automatic control means are provided for controlling the incremental feeding of the tools and for compensating for tool wear.

  • Patent number: 4122379
Abstract: An analogue control device with at least one electric stroke control emitter for the abutment-free stroke limitation of machine tools, especially honing machines, with which either a tool carrier or the workpiece connected to the machine tool carries out a reciprocatory stroke of adjustable length. As stroke control emitter there is provided a simple resistor which is adjustable in conformity with the machining movement and which is passed through by electric current, while pre-set values of the current or of the voltage generated by the current on the resistor are employed for limiting the stroke. The device also includes a warming-up or conditioning control which makes it possible automatically to carry out a predetermined number of working strokes with changed stroke length, the number and/or stroke length being adjustable.

  • Patent number: 4080521
Abstract: The invention is directed to a quenching and contact arrangement for a compressed-gas circuit breaker. The arrangement includes a tubular contact piece and a contact piece axially arranged therewith. An arc is drawn between both contact pieces when the circuit is interrupted under load, the arc then being blasted by a stream of compressed-gas. A turbulence grid is arranged in the flow path of the stream. The turbulence grid is configured in the form of a tube of insulating material with perforations in the cylinder surface thereof which directly encloses the arcing space in the course of the circuit-breaking motion.
