  • Patent number: 4845850
Abstract: A pipe cutter comprises a rotary cutting device having a cutter, two semi-cylindrical shells connected by a hinge, and a thrust bar connected between the handles for controlling the gripping force of the shells. The shells have jaw inserts with slots and ridges on their outer periphery to alter their resilient behavior during use.

  • Patent number: 4763413
Abstract: A chain tube cutter has two plier-like levers with hand grips on one side of a pivot pin which projects from one lever through a slot in the other and chain-engaging arms on the other side of the pivot pin. A link cutting chain is secured to one arm. The other arm has notches for engaging a selected link of the chain after it is wrapped around the tube to be cut. Squeezing the hand grips together generally keeps the chain adjusted about the tube as it is cut by rotating the cutter relative to the tube, but to provide greater initial and operational adjustment, the pivot pin is variably positionable in the slot.

  • Patent number: 4447926
Abstract: The invention concerns a pipe cleaning machine for rotating cleaning spirals of different diameters. To adapt the container for the cleaning spiral and the machine to cleaning spirals of different diameters with a minimum of accessories, the container for the cleaning spirals is made in a known manner in the form of a guide hose, but the inside diameter of the guide hose and of its coupling to the machine is equal to or greater than the inside diameter of the hollow shaft parts of the machine which receive the cleaning spirals and a collet for adapting the machine and the guide hose to different cleaning spiral diameters is removably mounted in the coupling.

  • Patent number: 4355528
Abstract: A bending device for metal pipe with and without plastic jacketing has a short cylindrical segment including a circumferential groove which determines the bending radius of the pipe to be bent and a support for holding the pipe to be bent tangentially with respect to the groove. A lever is mounted for concentric pivotable movement about the segment and a pressing block is mounted on the lever for pivotal movement about an axis parallel to the segment axis. The pressing block has a working surface which has an approximately semicircular, concave cross section in a plane disposed parallel to the pivot axis of the pressing block and the segment axis and a concave cross section in a plane disposed perpendicular to those axes.

  • Patent number: 4270269
Abstract: Combination pipe-cutter and deburring tool especially for plastic pipe. A housing which can be positioned around the pipe to be cut, carries an adjustable cutter which has a spindle and a hollow grip handle. A separable deburring tool for removing the internal burr that remains after the pipe is cut fits into the hollow grip handle.

  • Patent number: 4154083
Abstract: An expanding head for pipe end enlarging tools which have a tool body including a cylindrical end portion and a removable mandrel having a tapered end extending through the cylindrical end portion of the body and axially movable therein. The expanding head comprises a plurality of exchangeable segmental expanding elements each having a flange segment which together form a radially outwardly extending annular flange. The segments are connected together to unite them as a self-contained set and for radial movement in response to axial movement of the mandrel when in use. The segments are connected by a spring element which surrounds the segments at the annular flange and clamps them against each other and against the mandrel. The segments are removably connected to the cylndrical portion of the tool body without detachment of the spring element to maintain the segments in the self-contained set.

  • Patent number: 4144735
Abstract: A device for mounting exchangeable flanged sets of expanding elements on a tool for enlarging the ends of pipes. The tool comprises a tool body having an expanding mandrel and a removable cap for retaining the sets of elements on the mandrel. The device comprises a carrier having a plurality of orifices each for the insertion of one set of expanding elements. The carrier is removably mounted on the tool body and the sets of expanding elements are releasably retained in the orifices.

  • Patent number: 4081985
Abstract: A necking-out tool for forming projecting cylindrical nipples or necks on the circumferential wall of a pipe container or the like. The tool has a screw plug having a hook-shaped forming head and a thrust sleeve provided with a coaxial downholder flange for cooperation with the forming head and the screw plug. The thrust sleeve also has a hollow cylindrical interior corresponding to the contour of the forming head for the reception of the formed nipple or neck. A non-rotatable, telescopic guide means is associated with the thrust sleeve for mounting a torque converter on the screw plug.

  • Patent number: 4034591
Abstract: A tool for enlarging pipe ends includes a toolholder body containing an axially movable mandrel having a tapering end and capable of being displaced by an externally applied force. A toolhead is exchangeably attached to the toolholder body coaxially with the mandrel and contains a plurality of expanding members in the form of cylindrical segments radially displaceable by the axial displacement of the mandrel and mounted so that they project axially from the toolhead. The edges of the segments facing the mandrel form a recess corresponding to the mandrel taper. An adapter is interposed between the toolholder body and the toolhead and has a body containing an axially displaceable supplementary mandrel having an elongated tapering end for cooperating with the exchangeable toolhead. The other end of the supplementary mandrel contains a recess shaped to receive the tapering end of the mandrel mounted in the toolholder body.
