Abstract: A process for producing a liquid formulation of salts of sulfonated azo dyes by coupling an at least equimolar amount of diazotized aminoarylsulfonic acids I H2N—Ar—SO3H??(I), where Ar is phenylene (which may be monosubstituted by sulfo) or naphthylene (which may be mono- or disubstituted by sulfo and/or monosubstituted by hydroxyl) onto the coupling product of an unsubstituted or methyl-substituted phenylenediamine with itself comprises dissolving the azo dye in a basic medium and then subjecting the solution to a nanofiltration.

Abstract: The present invention relates to aqueous liquid formulations comprising 5-25% by weight of a dye composition comprising 70-95% by weight of a dye obtainable by reduction or thermal treatment of Direct Yellow 11 1-30% by weight of a blue direct dye and 0-20% by weight of a red direct dye (all based on the dye composition) 1-15% by weight of a saturated, cyclic or acyclic water-soluble amine comprising a primary, secondary or tertiary amino group and at least one further functional group selected from primary, secondary and tertiary amino groups, OH groups and ether groups, and 1-30% by weight of urea based on the total weight of the aqueous liquid formulation, wherein the total amount of water-soluble amine and urea does not exceed 40% by weight, and also their use for dyeing cellulose material especially paper.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an aqueous liquid formulation comprising ?5–25% by weight of a dye composition comprising 20–100% by weight of Direct Yellow 11 or of a dye obtainable by reduction or thermal treatment of Direct Yellow 11 ?0–30% by weight of a blue direct dye, ?0–30% by weight of a red direct dye, and ?0–60% by weight of a brown direct dye all based on the dye composition, and ?1–25% by weight of poly-N-vinylformamide and/or of a polymer obtained by polymerization of a mixture of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers and >50% by weight of N-vinylformamide based on total monomers, based on the total weight of the aqueous liquid formulation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel reactive dyes of formula I, (I), in which the variable independently denote X hydrogen, NO2, or NR3R4, Y NR5R6, OR7, SR8, or SO2R9 or a group suitable as a leaving group under the conditions of nucleophilic, aromatic substitution, R1 to R9 independently hydrogen, C1–C8 alkyl, C2–C8 alkyl, in which non-adjacent CH2 groups can be replaced by oxygen atoms, imino groups, or C1–C4 alkylimino groups, and/or CH2 groups may be replaced by carbonyl groups, C2–C8 alkenyl, or a group containing an active site or the precursor of an active site, with the proviso that at least one group R1 to R9 is present which contains an active site or the precursor of an active site. Abstract: The present invention relates to novel reactive dyes of the formula (I) where R1 to R4 are independently hydrogen, C1–C8-alkyl, C2–C8-alkyl, wherein nonadjacent CH2 groups may be replaced by oxygen atoms or imino or C1–C4-alkylimino groups and/or CH2 groups by carbonyl groups, C2–C8-alkenyl, aryl, arylalkylene or a moiety containing a reactive group or the precursor of a reactive group, with the proviso that at least one of R1 to R4 is a moiety which contains a reactive group or the precursor of a reactive group. Abstract: Disclosed are bisazo compounds of the formula Ia or Ib where R1 is hydrogen or methyl, the X groups are independently —CH2CH2— or —CH2CH2CH2—, R2, R3, and R4 are independently hydrogen or methyl, A is an anion and n corresponds to the valency of A. Also disclosed are the use of the bisazo compounds for dyeing, especially paper, and colorants containing said bisazo compounds.
