  • Patent number: 4976551
Abstract: A transportation and mounting sleeve for a row of needles, rollers, or the like rolling elements, supported in an outer ring for installation in a bearing. The sleeve disposed inside the row of rolling elements is comprised of resilient plastic material and has a rounded polygonal shape, as seen in axial top view, and particularly a triangular shape, wherein the distance between at least two of the corners of the polygon is greater than the diameter of the envelope circle of the opening radially inside the rolling elements.

  • Patent number: 4720197
Abstract: A ball sleeve for guiding axially displaceable parts includes bearing cage (3) that is formed integrally with coil springs (4), (4) which extend from both axial sides of cage (3).

  • Patent number: 4614446
Abstract: A fastening device for the rollers of a roller bushing, such as a universal joint bushing. The roller bushing includes a pin, an outer bushing around and spaced from the pin and rollers between the pin and the outer bushing. A groove in the outer bushing receives a holding ring which is generally U shaped. The groove in the outer bushing is shaped for receiving the radially outer leg of the holding ring under tension. The radially inner leg of the holding ring has projections which cooperate with projections on an outer seal for snap-holding the outer seal to close off the space between the pin and the bushing. The radially-directed, axially inwardly facing surface of the transition leg of the holding ring rests against the axially inward surface of the groove. Further, an inner sealing element for the space between the pin and the outer bushing rests against that same surface of the transition leg of the holding ring.

  • Patent number: 4576382
Abstract: In a bushing around a pin, where the bushing is separated from the pin by a series of rollers, as in the pin of a cardan joint, the free space between the bushing and the pin is closed by an axially short packing. An annular protective cap disposed over the packing extends around the pin. The cap has a radially extending section that extends over the axial end of the packing and has an axially extending section covering the packing and extending toward the bushing. A rib inside the radially extending section of the cap extends into a cooperatingly shaped groove in the adjacent radially extending surface of the packing so that the protective cap is elastically held to the packing. The outer end of the rib is thickened and the bottom of the groove is correspondingly widened for holding the cap to the packing.

  • Patent number: 4553858
Abstract: A bottom plate for emplacement in a bushing having an opening defined by an internal peripheral side wall and a bottom of the bushing. A pin, like the pin of a universal joint cross piece, is received in the opening of the bushing with rollers around the periphery of the pin for permitting rotation of the pin in the opening of the bushing. The bottom plate is disposed between the bottom end of the pin and the bottom of the bushing. Radially extending lubricant distribution grooves are defined in the bottom plate. First ones of the grooves extend over the region beneath the bottom end of the pin along the side of the bottom plate opening toward the pin. Second ones of the grooves extend over the region of the bottom plate beneath the rollers along the side of the plate and opening toward the bottom of the bushing. A step-like transition is defined between the first and the second ones of the grooves in the bottom plate.

  • Patent number: 4448108
Abstract: A guide system for the longitudinal recoil movement of a cannon has a pair of guide units spaced apart along the cannon barrel and each having a plurality of rollers angularly spaced about the barrel. At least one roller is elastically biased against the barrel while other rollers of the units are radially fixed to provide firm guidance of the barrel without play under all conditions and enabling the yieldable roller to adjust to the increase in barrel size with increasing temperature resulting from firing of the weapon.

  • Patent number: 4089570
Abstract: A ball or roller bearing with two symmetrical halves, each designed to absorb both radial and axial stresses, comprises two axially abutting inner rings on a shaft and two axially abutting outer rings in a housing wall coaxially surrounding the shaft. The inner rings form seats for respective rows of balls or rollers engaging contact zones on the inner peripheral surfaces of the outer rings that are offset from these seats in either an axially inward or an axially outward direction. In the first instance, the housing wall has an annular groove aligned with an annular recess or groove of the same axial width which is formed by two peripheral rabbets on the outer rings; in the second instance the inner rings are rabbeted to form an annular recess or groove aligned with an axially coextensive peripheral groove on the shaft.
