  • Publication number: 20160160264
Abstract: Disclosed is a diagnostic in vitro method for determining the activity of thiopurine S-methyltransferase (TPMT) in individuals to be examined, characterized in that the content of urothione and/or jukathione in body fluids is determined. Also disclosed is a diagnostic in vitro method for determining the TPMT activity in cellular extracts of test subjects of any origin, characterized in that molybdenum cofactor (Moco) and/or decomposition stages of Moco are used as substrates for the reaction and the formed quantity of jukathione and/or urothione is determined. Finally, a diagnostic in vitro method is disclosed, wherein urothione and/or jukathione serves as a biomarker for an increased susceptibility with regard to one or more particular diseases, which is determined in body fluids and/or cellular extracts.

  • Patent number: 5388477
Abstract: A gearshift device for electrically controlled transmissions is provided having a shifting lever pivotable in two parallel planes and guided in slides which have a connecting link only in the area of a neutral shifting position. Such gearshift devices are used particularly in construction machines. By way of a lock, which is activated below an admissible speed, a shift to the neutral position and into the opposite direction of travel is prevented. At higher speeds, accidental faulty shifts are prevented by a step-by-step gearshift mechanism. The locks, according to the invention, require only few regulation measures since they contain two mutually independent locking systems.

  • Patent number: 4907817
Abstract: The cross-country ski binding is provided with two pins (3, 4) which are arranged with their corresponding rigid pin recesses (5, 6) one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the ski; at least one pin is spring-loaded in a perpendicular direction to the ski by a spring element (2) in the form of a binding arm. In this way, the design is maintained flat and the spring travel is long and spring fore can be optimally adjusted. Insertion of the foot in the binding is also facilitated and the stability of the ski boot (9) around its vertical axis is good and the binding grips without and play. With this design numerous advantageous embodiments of the biding are possible.

  • Patent number: 4526402
Abstract: A ski guard is formed of an elastically tiltable stirrup made of a plastics material with a holding member formed as a part of the stirrup. The holding member maintains the stirrup member in the upright position on a ski by securing its support surface in contact with the upper surface of a base member which attached the stirrup to a ski. When the stirrup tilts or pivots, the support surface on the holding member moves over a boundary surface on the base member overcoming a dead-center position. Movement beyond the dead-center position takes place because of the deflection of a part of the holding member spaced from the support member. Axle journals in spaced axial alignment pivotally mount the stirrup on the base member and permit the location of a large locking element between them for detachably fastening the base member on a fastening plate.

  • Patent number: 4360718
Abstract: A shift lever for the selective actuation of power tools on a utility carries a rotary and axially shiftable knob which can be indexed by ball checks in a plurality of angular positions to establish different speed ratios of the vehicular transmission by actuating respective microswitches through cams bearing upon mobile bodies which are lodged in apertures of a stationary collar surrounding an extension of the knob. A rocker switch on that knob can be flipped by the fingers of the operator to switch between forward and reverse drive.

  • Patent number: 4323235
Abstract: Physical training apparatus for holding a person's feet while the person lies supine on a floor with his or her feet facing a closed door, includes a generally trapezoidally shaped foot bar support member which has a base portion with a planar bottom surface facing toward the floor. The support member also has a first surface which extends normal to the floor and faces toward the person, and a second surface which is inclined upwardly from the base portion toward the first surface and which faces toward the door. An extension member extends from the base portion toward the door to pass through an opening between the door and the floor, and to engage the door so as to prevent the bar support member from moving away from the door. A wedge-like space is thereby formed between the bar support member and the door, and a locking wedge is provided for insertion in the wedge-like space to fix the bar support member against movement toward the door.

  • Patent number: 4318553
Abstract: A ski attachment is provided with a vertically directed slot-like opening bounded by two parts which project upwards from its base plate. As the ski attachment can be fixed to a ski in easily detachable manner, it can serve in the detached state as a clip for holding together a pair of skis by introducing the skis into the slot-like opening. The skis of one pair then engage with one another within the attachment by their contact surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4288099
Abstract: A body has a base plate having an adhesive connection to a ski and especially with its scoop-like tip region, the adhesive appearing between an additional attachment plate and the ski. Between the attachment plate and the base plate of the body there is provided an elastic connection which is formed by a tongue-like part produced at the base plate of the body, this tongue-like part being resiliently bendable.

  • Patent number: 4287888
Abstract: PCT No. PCT/CH79/00039 Sec. 371 Date Nov. 13, 1979 Sec. 102(e) Date Oct. 19,1979 PCT Filed Mar. 13, 1979 PCT Pub. No. W079/00750 PCT Pub. Date Oct. 4, 1979The irrigating appliance has a shaft-like hollow member(90), whose one end can be connected to the bathroom shower or douche tube. At the front end there are a plurality of outlets (138) for forming a miniature douche for irrigating the inside of the vagina. A larger opening (132) at the rear end of the hollow member leads to the flowing away of most of the water supplied to the appliance and prevents a too high water pressure at the front outlets (138). From the rear end of hollow member (90) a plate-like member (96) extends radially outwards to one side, so that the water discharged from the larger opening (132) flows along said member (96). This plate-like member (96) limits the distance by which the shaft-like hollow member (90) can be inserted into the vagina.

  • Patent number: 4199645
Abstract: A multi-layer adhesive material for producing an adhesive bond between two essentially mutually parallel surfaces, especially for providing an adhesive bond between a surface of a ski and a surface of an attachment body for the ski, wherein the multi-layer adhesive material contains two outer adhesive surfaces and at least one predominantly elastic carrier layer. There is provided in addition to the predominantly elastic carrier layer at least one predominantly plastic carrier layer having at its outwardly directed side or face one of the two adhesive surfaces of the adhesive material. The method of using such adhesive material for establishing an adhesive connection between the aforementioned surfaces contemplates profiling the surface of the body to be connected with another body for increasing its adhesive surface, and which profiled surface faces the predominantly plastic carrier layer of the adhesive material.

  • Patent number: 4188043
Abstract: A ski brake apparatus is provided which comprises two brake arms each mounted on one side of the ski and arranged to swing under the action of a spring force into a braking position in which each brake arm partly extends under the bottom side of the ski. Each brake arm and the associated spring is integrally formed from the same spring material. Each brake arm comprises a prolongation perpendicularly bent-off and mounted onto the ski to form the swing axis. This axis is oriented parallel with the upper side and transverse to the longitudinal direction of the ski. The end of the prolongation opposite to the brake arm is bent to form a spring bracket. The end of this spring bracket is bent parallel to the swing axis and separated from this axis in longitudinal direction of the ski.

  • Patent number: 4108454
Abstract: An arrangement for securing an upstanding body to a ski wherein an elastic intermediate layer is interposed between a substantially plate-shaped base portion of the upstanding body and a substantially equal size attachment plate. For the detachable connection of the attachment plate and the upstanding body there is provided at least one projection which extends upwardly from the attachment plate. At least one surface of the elastic intermediate layer possesses a sliding surface, so that the upstanding body can be shoved or rotated into a locking position relative to the attachment plate where a part of the base portion of the upstanding body locks beneath a locking portion provided at the head of the projection.
