  • Publication number: 20060266727
Abstract: The invention relates to a closure for closing a bottle having a bottleneck (1) with an opening on which bottleneck an outer thread (5,6) is formed in the vicinity of the opening. In order to provide a closure that is easy to handle and can be fabricated inexpensively, the closure (2) has at least one, and particularly several, deformation regions which are plastically deformed so that in the outer peripheral surface of the closure they form indentations (21,22) and internally (25,26) they are adapted to the thread (5,6).

  • Patent number: 5964139
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a container cap. The cap is formed of plastic and includes a flat top, a casing emanating from the flat top, and a guarantee area provided in an edge zone of the casing. The guarantee area includes at least one holding section on a surface thereof and at least one vertical incision extending over a height of the guarantee area. The apparatus includes a centering device which rotates and securely holds the cap in a fixed position based on the at least one holding section, and a cutting device which cuts the at least one vertical incision into a wall of the guarantee area at a predetermined distance from the at least one holding section while the centering device rotates and securely holds the cap in the fixed position.

  • Patent number: 5660289
Abstract: A plastic cap for containers comprises a flat top, a casing emanating from same, as well as a guarantee area in the form of a guarantee ring provided in the edge zone of the casing. The guarantee area is provided with at least one vertical incision extending over the height of the guarantee area. The vertical incision is arranged in dependence on specific form characteristics, preferably in dependence on the arrangement of holding webs of the cap, and is cut into the wall of the guarantee ring.

  • Patent number: 5321935
Abstract: A slewing device for screw closures for containers includes a screw closure receiving member, a drive for rotating the receiving member, and a control arrangement for controlling power supply to the drive and including a torque sensor for sensing an instantaneous drive torque, a comparator for comparing the instantaneous drive torque with a closing torque having a predetermined value, and a sensor for sensing an angle of rotation of the receiving member and actuatable only upon the instantaneous drive torque reaching the predetermine value. The method of placing a screw closure on a container includes applying a drive torque to the screw closure to screw it down onto the container, sensing an instantaneous drive torque applied to the screw closure, comparing the instantaneous drive torque with a closing torque having a predetermined value, and sensing an angle of rotation of the screw closure only upon the instantaneous drive torque reaching the predetermined value of the closing torque.

  • Patent number: 4511053
Abstract: A two-piece lid for closure of a container neck with a thread or undercut shoulder having a lid member formed of a metal and a separate safety ring formed of synthetic material. The ring has an upper part and lower part, with the upper part positioned inside a sidewall protrusion which is provided at the lower edge of the lid member. In order to make the safety ring undamageable, the ring can be shrinkable in its lower part. On the other hand, the upper part of the safety ring can be formed as an outwardly directed edge and the lower part can be formed as an inwardly obliquely directed lip, so that the ring has a substantially Z-shaped cross-section. In both cases, there are no parts protruding over the protrusion of the lid member, where the ring could be damage unintentionally.

  • Patent number: 4410098
Abstract: An assembly for a locking cap for containers with a threaded neck, having an inner cap, an intermediate cap, and an outer cap. The inner cap 1 has on its upper edge a circumferential knurl. The intermediate cap has on its inner face another knurl and on its top face. The outer cap has on its inner bottom face downwardly pointing projections 15. The knurl of the intermediate cap engages in the circumferential knurl of the inner cap. A container with this assembly can only be opened if pressure is applied to the top face of the outer cap.
