Abstract: A multi-gasket sealing assembly or mount is disclosed for improved mounting of a swimming pool water skimmer in an opening in a pool wall of the type having a metal wall portion and a flexible inner sheet liner. The water skimmer has a housing defining a water inlet chamber for intake of water and an annular chamber end portion which protrudes through the pool wall opening. The housing also has an outwardly projecting peripheral flange spaced from the chamber end portion, the flange being bolted to the metal wall portion. A continuous gasket is located around the chamber end portion. An annular face plate is connected to the chamber end portion to compress the gasket and also to press the pool liner against the metal wall portion to prevent water from getting behind the liner. Another gasket is compressed between the peripheral flange and the metal wall portion to seal against the ingress of sand and other particulate matter into the skimmer from behind the pool wall.

Abstract: An improved combination pool skimmer is disclosed which may be adapted to provide surface water skimming, or subsurface water sweeping or vacuuming of a swimming pool. The skimmer has a body including a throat for entry of water into the skimmer and a well located below and communicating with the throat. The skimmer has a single relocatable cover plate adapted to be located in the well of the skimmer to cover the skimmer pump outlet port. The well has a peripheral shoulder adjacent to the throat on which a removable strainer basket is supported. The strainer basket has an annular ring or flange which is disposed on this shoulder for this purpose. The cover plate may be supported on the basket annular ring to cover the basket and control entry of water into the well. A snap-in hinged weir and a snap-in hinged equalizer flap valve are provided in the skimmer which are not subject to corrosive decay by pool chemicals.

Abstract: A pool liner retainer is disclosed for holding or retaining the top peripheral edge portion or liner bead of a watertight pool liner, such as is used in swimming pool construction. The liner retainer includes an elongate retaining element defining a holding channel for accommodating the liner bead, a longitudinal outward slot communicating with the holding channel, and a longitudinal hinge channel located adjacent to the slot. An elongate closing element depends from the hinge channel to partially close the slot to retain the liner bead therebehind. The closing element is hinged for transverse inward movement to open the slot for insertion of the liner bead, and is biased for transverse outward movement to close the slot. Stop means are provided for preventing outward movement of the closing element into the slot by outward movement of the liner bead located in the holding channel.
