    Abstract: A textile treatment composition comprising a mixture of (A) a dispersion accelerator selected from aldoses and ketoses; polyhydroxyl compounds obtained therefrom by hydrogenation; natural and synthetic hydrophilic polymers; and mixtures thereof; and (B) a fatty acid condensation product obtained by reacting aliphatic C.sub.8 -C.sub.22 monocarboxylic acids or amide-forming derivatives thereof with polyamines and subsequent neutralization of unreacted amino groups; a process for producing such composition; and methods for its use. Preferably, the polyamines correspond to the formula ##STR1## wherein: R is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, or hydroxyethyl,R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, hydroxyethyl, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -NHR,n is 2 to 4, andm is 1 to 4.

    Abstract: Antifoam compositions on the basis of an .alpha.-hydroxyamine derivative of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is --NHCO-- or --NHCONH--, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are H or alkyl having 1 to 22 carbon atoms and the sum of the carbon atoms in R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is from 8 to 22, and R.sub.3 is alkyl having 8 to 22 carbon atoms or hydroxyalkyl having 8 to 22 carbon atoms; as well as the process of controlling foam in a foamable liquid by introducing therein an antifoam effective amount of said .alpha.-hydroxyamine derivative. The antifoam .alpha.-hydroxyamine derivatives are effective antifoam agents for most industrial purposes and are suitable for use in oil and latex paints.

The antifoam bis-.alpha.-hydroxyamine derivatives are effective antifoam agents for most industrial purposes and are suitable for use in oil and latex paints.
