  • Patent number: 8793301
Abstract: A method of processing an image wherein one or more processing functions are executed. Firstly, the steps involved in the one or more processing functions are determined where each of the one or more processing functions can include one or more processing steps. Secondly, the resource requirements associated with each of the processing functions are determined. The resource availability for the one or more resource requirements on a client is determined. Thirdly, and finally, each of the one or more processing functions are selectively allocated to the at least one of the client and the server in the case where the client does not have the required resource availability.

  • Patent number: 7787679
Abstract: A system and method for navigating an image series, the image series containing a number of substantially aligned planar images. First, the images of the image the image series are grouped into a number of subseries, the number of subseries being less than the number of substantially aligned planar images in the image series. A representative image series is generated by generating an image from each subseries. The representative image series is displayed. It is determined whether an image from the representative image series has been selected. If an image from the representative image series has been selected, then the subseries associated with the selected image is displayed.

  • Patent number: 7786990
Abstract: A cursor mode display system and method for indicating an offset distance between a cursor position on an image and a closest image slice in a corresponding image series. First, the three-dimensional coordinates associated with the cursor position on the image are determined by projecting the cursor position onto a three-dimensional patient coordinate system. The closest image slice is then identified as the image slice in the corresponding image series that is closest to the three-dimensional coordinates of the cursor position. The offset distance between the closest image slice and the three-dimensional coordinates associated with the cursor position is then calculated. If the offset distance does not exceed a threshold value, then the closest image slice is displayed. Otherwise a modified version of the closest image slice is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20080126487
Abstract: A collaboration method and system where a first workstation participates in a collaboration session with one or more other workstations. Firstly, a first event message is received at the first workstation where the first event message includes information regarding an interaction with a displayed image at the one or more other workstations. Secondly, the first event message is analyzed to determine whether the interaction is to be executed at the first workstation upon a representation of the displayed image. If so, then the interaction is executed at the first workstation upon representation of the displayed image. If not, then the interaction is not executed at the first workstation and a second event message is received and analyzed.

  • Publication number: 20080118237
Abstract: A system and method for allowing a user to selectively view an automatically zoomed region of a displayed initial viewable area. Typically, the automatically zoomed region is deployed by the user when placing mark-ups in the viewable area.. The automatically zoomed region may be displayed by itself, or it may be displayed simultaneously with an un-zoomed portion of the initial viewable area. After the user places a mark-up in the viewable area, the automatically zoomed region is closed, and the initial viewable area is returned to the displayed viewable area.

  • Publication number: 20080117225
Abstract: A system and method for geometrical annotation of geospatial patient image data. First, an image block having geospatial image data such as an image series is acquired. Then at least one geometric shape having associated annotation data is defined within the image block and at least one display plane is selected within the image block. The geospatial image data associated with the display planes is displayed. Finally, it is determined if the display planes intersect with the geometric shapes and for each display plane that intersects with a geometric shape, the annotation data associated with the geometric shapes being intersected by that display plane is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20080120132
Abstract: A dynamic tag display system and method for dynamically changing the presentation of at least one patient demographic by changing from a first presentation mode to a second presentation mode for that at least one patient demographic, if a condition is met and also for dynamically indicating a measurement value and associated patient diagnosis information within an image. First, an image markup is created using a measurement tool. Then a measurement value associated with the image markup is determined and displayed. If the measurement value meets a condition indicating a pathology then patient diagnosis information is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20080119723
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically generating a localizer image comprising a plurality of pixel values. First, a plurality of planar images is provided, wherein each image has a plane. A three dimensional volume is generated based on the plurality of planar images, wherein the three dimensional volume comprises a plurality of values. An orientation and location are selected for the localizer image. Finally, a localizer image is generated, based on the plurality of values of the three dimensional volume, in the selected orientation and location.

  • Publication number: 20080117229
Abstract: A linked image display system and method for synchronizing two or more image series by setting any number of synchronization points and interpolating between these points. The synchronization points may either be selected automatically or by allowing the user to navigate through the image series to select corresponding images. Once the synchronization points have been selected, the image series may be linked and navigated in tandem.

  • Publication number: 20080117230
Abstract: An image display system and method for presenting medical images according to a hanging protocol. Each hanging protocol contains one or more presentation groups Each presentation group defines a screen layout for a group of images and a set of interface display rules. A user may navigate through the presentation groups in a hanging protocol or may define a new presentation group. When a presentation group is loaded, interface elements are added and removed from the display according to the interface display rules.
