  • Patent number: 4950220
Abstract: A throughput centrifuge for the industrial production of proteins from human blood plasma, with a cylindrical centrifuge drum provided with several concentric chambers that communicate at the bottom and with the blood plasma or similar material being supplied to the central zone and a liquid phase continuously extracted from the outer zone. The drum accordingly accommodates plastic containers constituting concentric annular or annular-segmental chambers that communicate through at least one channel at the bottom, wherein the container or containers toward the axis that the drum rotates around have an inlet connection and the container or containers in the outer zone of the drum have an outlet channel at the top, and wherein the outer surfaces of the containers, of the communicating channel or channels, of the outlet channel or channels, and of the inlet connection or connections rest against the inner surfaces of the drum and against structures that can be inserted into and removed from the drum.

  • Patent number: 4369698
Abstract: An arrangement for continuously separating fruits has a housing, a sieve element rotating in the housing and a hammer element rotating inside the sieve element, wherein the sieve element rotates with the speed which is lower than the speed of rotation of the hammer element and the relation between the speeds of rotation of the hammer element and the sieve element is within the region of between 2:1 and 4:1. A method of continuously separating fruits include withdrawing the extracted fruit juice from the inventive arrangement and supplying the same into a screw centrifuge so as to clarify the fruit juice in the latter and to produce a white wine. Red pigment of the fruit skin can be introduced into the fruit juice so as to produce a red fruit wine.

  • Patent number: 4113172
Abstract: Centrifuge (FIG. 1) having an insert composed of lower portion 9a and upper portion 9b. The insert portions have helical passageways, respectively, 24, 26, for circulation of a heat exchange fluid for temperature control of the separated solids in solids chamber 8. A rib 31 joins the insert portions and has a passageway 25 for transfer of the fluid from the helical passage of the lower portion 9a to the helical passageway of the upper portion 9b, and a passageway 27 for discharge of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 4044945
Abstract: A centrifuge constructed for the intermittent discharge of sludge having a main piston valve 3 for opening and closing of sludge discharge passageways 4, is provided with an auxiliary piston valve 9 mounted on the main piston valve 3 and having an opening chamber 11 and closing chamber 12, supplied with control fluids, so that the operation of auxiliary piston valve 9 is cumulative to the operation of the main piston valve 3 on both opening and closing of the main piston valve. The auxiliary piston valve 9 is mounted 10, 10a on the main piston valve 3 so that the auxiliary piston valve can shift on the main piston valve 3 to open and close dumping passageways 19 provided for emptying of the control chamber 8 of the main piston valve 3.

  • Patent number: 3981437
Abstract: Centrifuge with a drum having an insert lining spaced from and supported on the drum wall for flow of a heat exchange medium through the passage between the drum and insert. The drum is jacketed by a stationary frame member outfitted with heat exchange means, and the outlet from the passage in the drum communicates with the passage provided by the jacket. After flowing down the jacket, the heat exchange medium is pumped back to the passage in the drum.
