  • Patent number: 6196922
Abstract: The universal joint coupling comprises a housing (20) in which a torque transmitting pair of coupling members is arranged between two axial force transmitting pairs of coupling members (22, 24), each of which includes a spherical cup (22) and a ball segment (24) supported therein. The torque transmitting pair of coupling members (26, 28) has grooves which are arranged in two concentric rows and are defined by gaps in an internal gear ring (26) fitted into the housing (20), or an external toothing (28). They cooperate for torque transmission with counter-acting bodies, the profile of which matches the groove profile. Both the external toothing (28) and the ball segments (24) form part of a hub (16).

  • Patent number: 5318416
Abstract: A stator jacket (12) and a stator lining (22) of elastomeric material together form a tubular pump stator (10) the ends (20) of which are connected to a connecting piece (36) of a casing portion (32, 34) each. The stator jacket (12) has at least one parting area (14) extending throughout its length. This and the region of the stator lining (22) located radially inside thereof as well as the junctions of the connecting pieces (36) with the stator jacket (12) are designed such that the pump stator (10) will burst in at least one parting area (14, 16) when a predetermined positive internal pressure is exceeded. This provides pressure relief before a risk of explosion can develop when explosives are being conveyed.

  • Patent number: 4909773
Abstract: Two pairs of axial force transmitting coupling members (22, 24) and one pair of torque transmitting coupling members (26, 28) are arranged inside a housing (20). An annular cavity (42) each is formed in the housing (20) between each of the two pairs of axial force transmitting coupling members 922, 24) and the pair of torque transmitting coupling members (26, 28). A lubricant inlet opening (44) adapted to be closed opens into one of the annular cavities (42). An air outlet opening (54) is provided at the housing (20) at least approximately diametrically opposite the lubricant inlet opening (44) and communicates with the other of the two annular cavities (42) and likewise can be closed. In this manner the cavities (42) can be filled with liquid lubricant and freed of entrapped air in full measure in a short time.

  • Patent number: 4907906
Abstract: Two pin joints, each mounted at a respective end of a coupling rod, each comprise an outer joint head including a cavity which is open at least in one axial direction as well as a diametral bore and an inner joint head disposed in the cavity and likewise including a diametral bore. A pin extends through both bores and is locked at the outer joint head by a pin retaining device. To accomplish that, the pin has two ends projecting radially out of the outer joint head and each formed with a notch transversely of the longitudinal direction of the pin. The pin retaining device is embodied by a helical spring supported at its one end in the two notches of the pin and at its other end on a shoulder. The shoulder preferably is formed at a sliding ring seal which seals the outer joint head against a housing member.

  • Patent number: 4695040
Abstract: A well pump includes a string of risers composed of a plurality of releasably coupled risers, a hollow upright, and a drive mechanism releasably mounted on the upright. The corresponding erecting rig consists of a mast adapted to be supported by the upright, a deflecting device arranged at the upper end of the mast, and a pulling element passing around the deflecting device and formed at its one end for suspension of a riser and at its other end for suspension of a lifting device. The erecting rig is much lighter in weight and simpler and, therefore, may be transported and assembled more easily than lifting tackle used so far of the same lifting height and capacity.

  • Patent number: 4287743
Abstract: The method and device for the manufacture of helical rotor blanks for helical gear machines by moving a straight cylindrical shaft in a direction along the shaft axis while rotating it around the shaft axis by means of passing the shaft between at least three bending rollers, and the opposite end of the shaft held by a rotatable clamping chuck geared for infinitely variable timed relative movement with a bending roller. A first bending roller has a ring groove with a circular arc profile and a second bending roller ring groove has an elliptical profile with the second ring groove either laterally displaced or of greater width than the ring groove in the first bending roller.
