Patent number: 9285837Abstract: A physical keyboard having a plurality of individual keys temporarily overlays a touch-sensitive display. Each individual key selectively provides either of a first level of capacitive coupling and a second, different level of capacitive coupling to the touch-sensitive display. By one approach the key provides that first level of capacitive coupling to the touch-sensitive display when a user asserts the key (for example, by pressing upon the key) to thereby communicate to the touch-sensitive display a selection of that individual key. The key can provide that second level of capacitive coupling when a user touches, but does not assert, the individual key. So configured, this second level of capacitive coupling serves to communicate to the touch-sensitive display an input instruction other than a selection of that individual key.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2012Date of Patent: March 15, 2016Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Klaus-Dieter Meierling, Wolfgang Michael Theimer, Günther Heinrich Burghardt, Heinz Henning Taschke, Frank Von Heimburg

Patent number: 8838259Abstract: The present disclosure relates to media players, such as portable electronic devices, vehicle audio systems, home stereo systems, etc. In particular, it relates to the management of the sound pressure level generated by portable electronic devices. A method and system for controlling the consumed audio dose of a user of a media player is described. The method comprises the steps of selecting a first frequency range from the total frequency range relevant for the human ear; of determining the audio dose already consumed by the user within the first frequency range; of evaluating the audio dose of a media track within the first frequency range and the already consumed audio dose of the user within the first frequency range; and of controlling the audio dose generated by the media player based on the evaluating step.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2009Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Blackberry LimitedInventors: Wolfgang Michael Theimer, Frank von Heimburg, Frederik Nicolas Goerges, Wolfgang Edeler, Gunther Heinrich Burghardt, Jens Koenig

Patent number: 8660677Abstract: The present document relates to media players, such as portable electronic devices, vehicle audio systems, home stereo systems, etc. In particular, it relates to the management of the sound pressure level generated by portable electronic devices. A method and system for controlling the cumulated audio dose of a user of a media player is described. The method comprises the steps of determining the audio dose already consumed by the user and of selecting one or more media tracks for play back on the media player based on the audio dose of the media track and the already consumed audio dose of the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2009Date of Patent: February 25, 2014Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Wolfgang Michael Theimer, Frank von Heimburg, Frederik Nicolas Goerges, Wolfgang Edeler, Gunther Heinrich Burghardt, Jens Koenig

Publication number: 20050032724Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of irinotecan or derivative thereof for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer, especially, colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, malignant glioma, ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer in a patient having a genotype with a variant allele which comprises a polynucleotide in accordance with the present invention. Preferably, a nucleotide deletion, addition and/or substitution comprised by said polynucleotide results in an altered expression of a variant allele compared to the corresponding wild type allele or an altered activity of the polypeptide encoded by the variant allele compared to the polypeptide encoded by the corresponding wild type allele. Finally, the present invention relates to a method for selecting a suitable therapy for a subject suffering from colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, malignant glioma, ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2002Publication date: February 10, 2005Inventors: Gunther Heinrich, Reinhold Kerb

Patent number: 6521230Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies to the CD25 antigen are characterized by the amino acid sequence of their hypervariable regions. Initially produced in murine form, they may be converted to chimeric or humanized forms, immunoconjugates or antibody fragments (generally described as binding molecules). The products are useful for the prophylaxis or treatment of transplant rejection, paticularly in combination with other antibodies to activated T-cells, for example CD7 antibodies.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1991Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Assignees: Novartis AG, University College LondonInventors: Peter Lloyd Amlot, Arne Nalpon Akbar, Günther Heinrich, Salvatore Cammisuli

Patent number: 6038948Abstract: A workpiece spindle device for a machine tool having a drivable workpiece spindle in a spindle housing and including a hydraulic oil supply device with a non-rotating housing portion connected to the spindle housing. An oil control device is connected to the non-rotating housing and communicated to the oil supply device without an oil line therebetween. An oil flow path is provided between the oil control device and a cylinder chamber of a workpiece clamping cylinder of the spindle with the oil path being free of any valve and thus substantially unrestricted to oil flow.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1999Date of Patent: March 21, 2000Assignee: Index-Werke GmbH & Co.
