Abstract: The invention relates to novel N-alkoxycinnamamides of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxyalkenyl, alkoxyalkynyl, trialkylsilylalkynyl or arylalkyl, aryl optionally being substituted by alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, halogen, cyano, nitro, alkylsulfonyl, phenyl and/or phenoxy, to processes for their preparation, to fungicidal compositions containing them, and to their use as fungicides.

Abstract: 1,2,4-Triazole derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 denotes methyl or optionally substituted phenyl,R.sub.2 denotes R.sub.3 O-- in which R.sub.3 is optionally substituted alkyl, alkinyl preferably having up to 3 carbon atoms, optionally substituted cycloalkyl, optionally substituted phenyl, orR.sub.2 denotes ##STR2## in which R.sub.4 is hydrogen or optionally substituted (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) alkyl and R.sub.5 is (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkyl or optionally substituted phenylare effective as fungicides and growth regulators.

Abstract: A 5-methyl-isoxazole-4-carboxylic acid anilide is prepared by heating an acetoacetic acid anilide with an orthoformic acid ester and a carboxylic acid anhydride, isolating the resulting 2-alkoxymethylene-acetoacetic acid anilide and then treating it with hydroxylamine in an organic solvent. The compounds of the invention have anti-inflammatory and analgetic activity.

Abstract: A 2-hydroxyethylidene-cyano acetic acid anilide is prepared by heating an acetoacetic acid anilide with an orthoformic acid ester and acetic anhydride, isolating the resulting 2-alkoxymethylene-acetoacetic acid anilide and treating it with hydroxylamine and the isoxazole so obtained with a base, and optionally reacting the resulting alkali metal or ammonium salt with a mineral acid or a strong organic acid. The compounds of the invention have anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.
