  • Patent number: 4493990
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically adjusting the characteristic of a deflection unit, illustratively of the type used in laser recording equipment. A reference value for the deflection unit is conducted to a first input of a multiplier, the second input of which is connected to the output of a first memory. The output of the multiplier is connected to a first input of an adder, the second input of which is connected to the output of a second memory. In addition, a comparator is provided which compares the position of the deflection unit with two adjustment reference values. The content of the second memory is varied in response to a zero-adjustment command until, for a predetermined reference value zero, the deflection unit has assumed a zero position. Upon the issuance of a slope-adjustment command, the content of the first memory is varied until, for a second adjustment reference value, the deflection unit has assumed its desired position.

  • Patent number: 4422712
Abstract: A contact arrangement for a tubular lamp which is arranged in a housing and is provided at each end with a spherical or cylindrical lamp terminal. A contact piece having a substantially semicylindrical recess is arranged in the housing for receiving the lamp contact terminal. A pressure plate is movably connected at one end thereof to a support block. A further end of the pressure plate rests upon the lamp contact terminal. The housing is provided with a cover which contains a resilient spring. When the housing cover is in place, the resilient spring exerts a force upon the pressure plate which holds the lamp contact terminal in place within the recess of the contact piece. In this manner, the lamp can be removed and replaced without exerting mechanical stress in the axial or radial directions.

  • Patent number: 4379203
Abstract: Disclosed is a housing for a laser device. The housing is of cylindrical shape and comprises two semi-cylindrical housing halves connected by a hinge. Each housing half includes a cutout in a planar inner portion thereof extending in the housing half parallel to the axis thereof. The cutout base of a lower housing half serves as a mounting surface for the laser device. Between the cutout and a circular outer surface of at least one of the housing halves are disposed canals for a coolant and a cable channel for electric wires going to the laser apparatus. Because the canals are brought into the housing separately, the housing of the invention saves space and facilitates maintenance.
