  • Patent number: 8754173
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the continuous production of polymer mixtures comprising: a) from 10 to 80% by weight of a biodegradable polyester (Q) composed of aliphatic or aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylic acids and of aliphatic dihydroxy compounds, and b) from 20 to 90% by weight of one or more polymers (T) selected from the group consisting of: polylactic acid, polycaprolactone, polypropylene carbonate, polyglycolide, aliphatic polyester, cellulose acetate, and polyhydroxyalkanoate, where i) a mixture composed of the aliphatic dihydroxy compounds, of the aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylic acids and, if appropriate, of further comonomers (component C) is mixed, without addition of any catalyst, to give a paste or, as an alternative, the liquid esters of the dicarboxylic acids are fed into the system, as also are the dihydroxy compound and, if appropriate, further comonomers, without addition of any catalyst, and in a first stage this mixture, together with the entire amount or with a

  • Patent number: 4908172
Abstract: Ceramic moldings, in particular those having geometrically complicated shapes, are produced by a process in which a ceramic powder is mixed with a molding additive and the mixture is injected into a mold. In order to improve the mechanical properties of the molding, a solution of a high molecular weight polymer in a solvent is used as the molding additive. The mixture is injected at a temperature below the boiling point of the solvent and under from 100 to 1,500 bar into a porous, gas-permeable mold which is at a temperature above the boiling point of the solvent, the injection pressure being maintained until gas no longer escapes from the molding material or the mold.

  • Patent number: 4681328
Abstract: A shaft seal containing magnetic liquid, for pump shafts or the like, consists of a permanent magnet which surrounds the shaft and is a distance away and one or more pole pieces connected to the said magnet. The pole piece, together with the shaft surface, forms an air gap in which the magnetic liquid is held by the magnetic field, so that a liquid sealing ring is produced. A volume of gas located between the magnetic liquid seal and the shaft channel to the medium prevents the magnetic liquid from coming into contact with the medium.
