  • Patent number: 5264069
Abstract: The device has a support plate (119) provided with drive means (112, 117) for at least one lower part, as well as a plurality of holding plates (85) arranged in one row with an upper receiving surface and a lower receiving surface (93, 94), respectively, for a plurality of upper parts. The holding plates (85) can be rotated through 180.degree. by means of a pivoting device (86, 87, 108) around a symmetrical horizontal axis (L3). After the upper parts have been placed on the holding plates (85), adhesive is applied to the edges of the upper parts, after which the holding plates (85) are pivoted through 180.degree.. The support plate (119) subsequently gathers the upper parts, which are now hanging down, while at the same time the next upper parts can be placed over the receiving surfaces of the holding plates (85), which [receiving surfaces] are now facing upward. The support plate (119) and the holding plates (85) are designed as suction plates that can be turned on and off.

  • Patent number: 4732096
Abstract: A sewing station has a sewing machine and a feed device with a holder for the product being stitched that is driven by at least one drive mechanism to execute a predeterminable course of motion. To prevent damage or destruction of components of the stitching area from deviations of the holder for the produce being stitched from the predetermined course of motion, the stitching station has a monitor that includes a marking and a sensor conforming to the form of stitch to be made. These are movable relative to one another as a function of the motion of the holder for the product being stitched. The sensor is connected to a control circuit to emit a switching signal after the occurrence of an error.

  • Patent number: 4648337
Abstract: An edge guiding device is provided for sewing work with several edges extending at angles to each other, and on which parallel seams are to be formed, e.g., collars. The device has an edge ruler which is formed by a central section and two sections controllable independently of the central section, each with a guide face. During the formation of seams which begin or end at inside corners of the collar or work, the edge ruler is moved synchronously with the work displacement. Thereby, e.g., one-piece collars plus collarbands can be securely guided from the start during the formation of the seam sections beginning or ending at the inside corners of the collars. For guiding at a long side of the collar, which is usually curved, the outer sections of the edge ruler are pulled back and only the central section with its arched guide face is used for guiding the work.

  • Patent number: 4620427
Abstract: An apparatus for letting out skins comprises behind the parting sword a needle bar movable up and down which is movable in addition parallel to the drawoff direction of the skin through a drive mechanism. Together with a supporting plate movable up and down, the needle bar acts on the skin section already let out so that it is held taut and flat.

  • Patent number: 4573421
Abstract: A device for use with a sewing machine for making garments with pleats operates with a folded-over workpiece which is advanced past a reciprocating sewing needle and includes a pleating bar assembly which is insertable between the folds of the material and includes portions which engage against the folds of the material to hold a pleat in position while it is moved by a feed pressure member into a sewing position. The pleating bar assembly includes a supporting member such as a shaft or a rod having pleat members with bearing portions which are rotatable on the support member to permit the plates to be held in position and to be collapsed for bringing the pleat to a sewing position. The material is held by needle or pin members which engage into the material as it is fed into the sewing position.

  • Patent number: 4462321
Abstract: A sewing mechanism is equipped with a drag clamp assembly for holding the ends of the fabric plies. The drag clamp assembly comprises two laterally spaced-apart clamps which are movable relative to each other in the sewing direction and of which the first clamp is opened when it is adjacent a contour control device, and the second clamp laterally thereof is opened near the stitch forming area. The drag clamp assembly enables the contour control device to remain in a working position during the entire sewing operation, and the clamp moving past the contour control device holds the fabric plies taut up to the end of the sewing operation.

  • Patent number: 4418629
Abstract: A device for making darts on cut parts for use with a sewing machine which has a reciprocating needle mounted over a support table for engagement with the material to be sewn and wherein the material to be sewn is moved along the table by a feeding mechanism, comprises, a pleating bar support plate which is mounted for movement around the needle and carries a pleating bar which is movable therewith for adjustable positioning in respect to the table. The support plate for the pleating bar may be adjustably positioned and the limit of its adjustment is governed by a stop which is adjustably positionable relative to the support plate. The stop advantageously comprises a rotatable multi-step stop which is carried on a lever arm so that it may be shifted relative to the support plate. The lever arm is advantageously biased in a direction so that the stop engages the support plate. The lever is connected with a drive device for effecting its adjustment.

  • Patent number: 3964409
Abstract: A device for use on a sewing unit in sewing and cutting-open tucks on cut pieces of garments, comprises a sewing machine having a stitch formation zone which operates in conjunction with a work advance table. The work advance table has an edge around which the work is folded and a template rail is supported from the support for the work table and includes a pressure plate portion which may be moved into association with the work and a template rail which provides a guide for the feeding of the work piece into association with the sewing needle so that the shape of the seam may be followed. The apparatus includes a cutting knife which is carried on a carrier plate which is pivotable backwardly and forwardly. The cutting knife comprises a rotatable cutting blade which is rotated by a motor on the pivotal carrier plate.

  • Patent number: 3954071
Abstract: A sewing machine for sewing two material layers to each other in aligned positions, comprises a top feeding mechanism engageable with a top layer for feeding it and a bottom feed mechanism engageable with a bottom layer of material for feeding it. The top and bottom feeding mechanisms are connected to a synchronizing device which regulates the relative speed between the two. A sensor or measuring means is engageable with the material being fed and is connected to the synchronizing means in order to vary the relative speed of the top and bottom feeds in accordance with the actual feed of the material layers.
