Patent number: 9483745Abstract: A computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage device includes instructions that, when executed, generate in a display device a graphical user interface comprising: a business view area with first objects representing business entities participating in a business network and second objects representing business connections between the business entities; and a connect view area with third objects representing applications participating in the business network and fourth objects representing logical interactions between the applications; wherein the graphical user interface dynamically updates the first, second, third and fourth objects with metadata that is at least in part automatically gathered in the business network.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2010Date of Patent: November 1, 2016Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Joerg Ackermann, Ankur Bhatt, Juergen Denner, Christian Illenberger, Christoph Liebig, Gunther Rothermel, Sandra Voges

Patent number: 8700414Abstract: A system being monitored generates alerts directed at participants as events to be resolved occur. As a participant resolves an alerted event, the system logs the steps taken by the participant to resolve the event and stores the event resolution log associated with the event. From that event resolution log, a template for a workflow process can be automatically generated. When similar events occur again, the participant for those future events can be provided with the prior stored event resolution log and/or automatically generated templates for a workflow processes corresponding to the stored event resolution log. Iterative generation and editing of templates can be provided for, wherein subsequent event resolutions for similar events are used to modify the workflow process templates developed from previous event resolutions. Events can include conditions being met in data stored by the system or events representing the lack of occurrence of expected events.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2004Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: SAP AGInventors: Gunther Rothermel, Dirk Wodtke

Publication number: 20120089534Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes: receiving metadata about a business network, the metadata gathered by computer-based entities performing automated discovery of the business network; generating a business network model based on the metadata, the business network model comprising objects and associations between them, the objects representing aspects of the business network found by the automated discovery, including at least: participants, systems, relationships, applications, interfaces, middleware, process steps, and documents; and modifying the business network model based on at least one input.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2010Publication date: April 12, 2012Applicant: SAP AGInventors: Christoph Liebig, Ankur Bhatt, Gunther Rothermel, Joerg Ackermann, Daniel Ritter, Frank Beunings, Frank Oliver Hoffmann

Patent number: 7810101Abstract: First data associated with a task originating from one of a plurality of applications may be received via a communications network. Thereafter, an entity to which the task has been assigned may be identified to allow for an associated delivery context to be determined. A format of the first data may be converted so that it is compatible with the determined delivery context to generate second data. This second data may be transmitted to a node associated with the entity via the communications network. A user interface associated with the first node may be operable to initiate one or more transactions associated with the task using the second data. Related techniques, apparatuses, systems, and computer program products are also described.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2005Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: SAG AGInventors: Gunther Rothermel, Teodor Joav Bally
