Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for use in a drug delivery device comprising a cartridge holder, the cartridge holder comprising an opening at its distal end, a needle holder and one or more intermediate elements, wherein when the needle holder is mounted to the cartridge holder and the one or more intermediate elements are arranged in the opening of the cartridge holder whereby the size of the free space within the opening is reduced. Furthermore, it relates to a drug delivery device which is comprising such an arrangement and to a method for stabilizing a septum located at the distal end of a medicament cartridge.

Abstract: A method for securing a cartridge (4) in a cartridge holder (3) is provided, the method comprising the steps of inserting the cartridge (4) into the cartridge holder (3), the cartridge holder (3) having a proximal end and a distal end, axially displacing the cartridge (4) in a proximal direction with respect to the cartridge holder (3) from a distal initial position to a proximal end position and securing the cartridge (4) in the end position against displacement in the distal direction with respect to the cartridge holder (3). Abstract: A drive mechanism for a drug delivery device, preferably for a pen-type injector, the mechanism comprises a spindle (6) movable in a first direction during a delivery step, a splined portion (5, 11) operatively coupled to the spindle (6), and retraction means (12, 15, 16, 17, 20) acting on the splined portion (5, 11) at least at the end of the delivery step. Thereby, that after the delivery step the spindle (6) and/or the splined portion (5, 11) is moved in a second direction contrary to the first direction, such that the whole drive mechanism is relieved from stresses.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a housing component of a drug delivery device (10) to accommodate a drive mechanism (11), wherein the drive mechanism (11) is operable to interact with a piston (20) of a cartridge(16) containing a medicinal product to be dispensed by the drug delivery device. The housing component comprises at least one radially inwardly extending flange portion (16) to be operably engaged with a piston rod (24) of the drive mechanism (11), characterized in that the flange portion (16) is at least partially structurally strengthened.
