  • Patent number: 5632361
Abstract: Vibration damper, in particular for motor vehicles, including a work cylinder, a work piston fastened to a piston rod and dividing the work cylinder into two work chambers, possibly an equalization chamber and a piston rod guide which seals the piston rod against the atmosphere, whereby the work chambers are filled with a magnetorheological fluid to which an electric coil can be applied. In the event of a failure or malfunction of the electric coil, it must be possible to achieve a safe damping force, by having at least one permanent magnetic field which acts on the magnetorheological fluid.

  • Patent number: 4876825
Abstract: In a vehicle door comprising an outer wall, an inner wall and an equipment carrier which is arranged between the outer and inner walls and, before the outer and inner walls are brought together, can be provided with further door parts, especially a window lifting actuation means, and which serves as a fastening base for at least two door hinges and for at least one door mounted latch arrangement actuable by means of a door lock and interacting with a corresponding frame mounted latch arrangement of the vehicle, and, if appropriate, a window frame, the equipment carrier consists of a bottom boom section with legs directed upwards on one side and at least partially forming a hollow frame, the legs being connected to one another at a distance from the bottom boom section by means of at least one strut. The bottom boom section and the legs preferably consist of an aluminium alloy casting, in which is partially cast a strut consisting of an aluminium alloy extruded hollow section of boxshaped cross section.

  • Patent number: 4607960
Abstract: A device for contact-free measurement of the temperature at the surface of a workpiece, in particular aluminum strips and sections, and/or for determining and/or measuring the shape of a workpiece, in particular dimension or shape or the like includes, a measuring pin which has a central bore resides in a housing and is directed at the workpiece. The workpiece is jetted with compressed gas emerging from the central bore. The measuring pin in the housing can be moved in the direction x and maintains a specific distance s from the surface of the workpiece as a result of a negative pressure created by the compressed gas between the base of the measuring pin and the workpiece surface. Situated in the bore and at the base of the measuring pin are thermocouples which transmit their measured values to a registering unit.

  • Patent number: 4539561
Abstract: The surface of a material is inspected for defects by visual examination of a television picture of the surface produced by at least one camera focused on the material and transmitting an image to a screen in the form of a video signal. The connection between screen and camera is made only when a defect is detected on the surface of the material. The video signal is delimited by an upper and a lower signal level which, if exceeded, results in a trigger signal being activated. In addition a trigger mechanism and an image storage facility are provided between the screen and the camera. Appearing on the screen are only pictures of surface areas showing defects; areas without defects are not displayed on the screen.

  • Patent number: 4535031
Abstract: Modified aminoplast resin comprising:(a) 60 to 99.5% by weight of an aminoplast precondensate which has been etherified with a lower alkanol to an extent not exceeding 10% and(b) 0.5 to 40% by weight of a modifying agent which comprises a mixture of (i) a water-soluble polyester prepared from carboxylic acids with at least one carboxyl and dihydric or polyhydric alcohols, and (ii) sufficient free diol or polyol whereby the mixture has a ratio of the sum of free and esterified hydroxyls of 0.8 to 4.5 moles for each mole of the sum of free and esterified carboxyls which resins are useful in impregnating webs for producing laminates and panels of wood-based materials.

  • Patent number: 4174676
Abstract: A device for feeding materials to an evaporator of a vapor deposition apparatus comprises a balance onto which material to be evaporated is fed and an ejector associated with the balance and responsive to a predetermined weight of the substance on the balance to eject the substance from the balance through a trajectory path and into the evaporator.

  • Patent number: 3975613
Abstract: In an electron beam-generating system including an electron-emitting cathode, a beam focusing electrode, and an anode electrode for accelerating the emitted electrons, the magnetic fields for deflecting the beam to material to be heated and for periodically deflecting the focal spot of the beam on the material are produced by a heavy current conductor, that is, a conductor carrying a high current, arranged in proximity to the curved path of the deflected electron beam and extending perpendicular to the plane of deflection of the electron beam. The anode electrode may be formed with an opening for the passage of the electron beam, and the heavy current conductor is arranged in the proximity of the opening and parallel to the latter. The heavy current conductor may be designed as an edge of a slot-shaped opening, and may comprise a plurality of individual conductors.

  • Patent number: 3949187
Abstract: An apparatus for electron-beam evaporation comprises a holding structure or support for the substance to be evaporated arranged alongside a hot cathode. A focusing and accelerating electrode is located adjacent the hot cathode and acts on the electrons emitted thereby. Means are provided for generating a magnetic field in the electron flow path in order to deviate the electrons to the substance. An ion-collecting electrode is located adjacent the hot cathode for collecting the ions formed in the vapor beam during the evaporation. The substance to be evaporated, the means for producing the electron beam and the ion-collecting electrode are all arranged in order one after the other in the magnetic field.
