Abstract: An apparatus and method controls a speed of a fan in a computer. The apparatus includes a signal generator, a signal buffer, a signal switch, and an integrated baseboard management controller (IBMC). The IBMC includes a general purpose input output (GIPO) pin and a signal output port. The IBMC determines whether the IBMC operates normally by detecting a voltage status of the GIPO pin. The signal generator generates a first pulse width modulation (PWM) signal according to a system temperature of the computer when the IBMC does not operate normally. The IBMC generates a second PWM signal to according to the system temperature of the computer when the IBMC operates normally. The signal switch controls the speed of the fan according to the first PWM signal or the second PWM signal.

Abstract: A pin test assistant device includes a shaft and a hook. The shaft is made of strong lightweight material that is easily formed into a shaft, and the hook is made of material that resists heat. If a pin on an integrated circuit (IC) chip needs to be tested, the hook is positioned against the underside of the pin, then a heating device is used to heat the pin for softening the pin. After the pin is softened, the hook is used to bend the pin up to for a test of the pin. After the test, the hook is used to press the pin back into an original position.

Abstract: An electronic device with redundant fan control function includes a first fan, a first control module, a first power supply, a first switch unit, a second fan, a second control module, a second power supply, and a second switch unit. When the first power supply stops working, the second power supply powers the first fan and the second fan, and the first power supply sends a control signal to turn on the first switch unit to allow a group of control information output by the second control module to control the first fan. Therefore, the first fan and the second fan can work normally to dissipate heat from the electronic device.
