    Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical machine having a stator. The stator comprises a plurality of slots for receiving a stator winding. One respective conductor section of the stator winding is inserted into each slot. The conductor sections of at least one pair of poles are short-circuited to one another on a first side of the stator. The conductor sections on a second side of the stator, opposite from the first side, are each connected to a terminal of a power supply unit.
