  • Patent number: 6396240
Abstract: A jump-start assembly 13 for use within a vehicle 10 of the type having a pair of dissimilar batteries 12, 14. Assembly 13 allows the vehicle 10 to be selectively jump-started and electrical charge to be communicated to the battery 14 by the use of a single battery 62, 90.

  • Patent number: 6380701
Abstract: An electrical charge assembly 10 for use within a vehicle 12 having a transmission 20, a starter assembly 16, and an engine 14. The assembly 10 includes a capacitor assembly 34 which selectively provides electrical charge to the starter assembly 16, effective to allow the engine 14 to be activated. The starter 16 may be selectively coupled to the transmission 20, effective to increase the torque produced by the transmission 20 and may selectively provide electrical charge to the capacitor assembly 34.

  • Patent number: 6233935
Abstract: A system (40) for starting an internal combustion engine (12) of an automotive vehicle (10) has a controller (54) coupled to a starter/alternator (42). The engine (12) has a crankshaft (50) and a turbocharger (24). The controller (54) initiates the starting of the engine (12) by rotating the crankshaft (50). The rotating crankshaft (50) displaces an amount of air from the cylinders (14) of the engine (12) to rotate the rotor shaft of the turbocharger (21). The turbocharger (25) thus draws in air, compresses the air and provides the compressed air to the cylinders (14). When the engine is started the initial power is increased due to the compressed air.

  • Patent number: 6234680
Abstract: A sealable bearing race assembly including a first component and a second component cooperatively mateable with each other to yield a sealed bearing assembly. The first component has a first circular channel for accommodating a bearing structure such as a plurality of ball bearings, and flanked by a first lateral flat border and a first medial flat border. The first lateral flat border has a first biaser there behind for urging that border away from an underlying first support. The second component has a second circular channel alignable with the first channel, and is flanked by a second lateral flat border and a second medial flat border. The second medial flat border has a second biaser there behind for urging that border away from an underlying second support.
