Patent number: 12240711Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for wheel wear monitoring systems for shuttles powered by linear synchronous motors. An example system may include a first rail segment that forms a first side of the track, the first rail segment having a first aperture, a second rail segment that forms a second side of the track, the second rail segment having a second aperture, and a first camera disposed adjacent to the first aperture. The system may include a second camera disposed adjacent to the second aperture, and a controller configured to determine a first set of images of a first wheel of the shuttle using the first camera, determine a second set of images of a second wheel of the shuttle using the second camera, and determine a wear status of the first wheel based at least in part on the first set of images.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2023Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Michael Alan Bray, Vinodhkumar Somavar Muniappan, Divya Natarajan, Ganesh Krishnamoorthy, Gurjinder Singh Dhami

Patent number: 12205320Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a shuttle track system having a calibration shuttle for determining portions of the track having non-conforming geometry for optimum use of the shuttle track system. For example, the shuttle track system may include a track having an electromagnetic propulsion system (e.g., linear synchronous motor) embedded between two sides of the track. The calibration shuttle may move to various locations on the track and may use imaging systems for generating image data of a portion of the track. A trained model may process the image data to determine edges and surfaces of the components of the track and may determine distances between reference points on the track. The distances may be compared to threshold values to determine if they are in conformity with desired track geometry.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Vinodhkumar Somavar Muniappan, Michael Alan Bray, Divya Natarajan, Gurjinder Singh Dhami, Ganesh Krishnamoorthy

Patent number: 7661051Abstract: An apparatus comprising a comparator circuit, a reference circuit, a plurality of elements and a logic circuit. The comparator circuit may be configured to generate a difference signal in response to (i) a reference signal and (ii) a test signal. The reference circuit configured to generate the reference signal in response to a first control signal. The plurality of elements may each be configured to generate an intermediate test signal. One of the intermediate test signals may be presented as the test signal by activating one of the test elements, in response to a second control signal. The logic circuit may be configured to generate (i) the first control signal and (ii) the second control signal, each in response to the difference signal.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2007Date of Patent: February 9, 2010Assignee: LSI CorporationInventors: Gurjinder Singh, Ara Bicakci

Patent number: 6967609Abstract: A circuit dynamically biases switching elements in a current-steering digital-to-analog converter (DAC), The DAC includes, in each cell, a current source coupled to a current node, a first switching element coupled between the current node and a first DAC output node, and a second switching element coupled between the current node and a second DAC output node. The circuit includes first and second inputs coupled to the first and second DAC output nodes, respectively, first and second outputs coupled to the first and second switching elements, respectively, and a third output coupled to the first and second switching elements. The first and second outputs provide a first ON bias voltage and a second ON bias voltage to control the first and second switching elements, respectively, such that a voltage at the current node is maintained at a predetermined voltage. The third output provides a common OFF bias voltage.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2004Date of Patent: November 22, 2005Assignee: LSI Logic CorporationInventors: Ara Bicakci, Gurjinder Singh
