  • Publication number: 20230365239
Abstract: Disclosed is a buoyancy tube for a life raft having: a first panel including: a first panel top edge and a first panel bottom edge, the first panel top edge defines a first repeating pattern, and the first panel bottom edge defines a second repeating pattern that is a rotated version of the first panel top edge; a second panel that has a same shape as the first panel, the first and second panels connected by a first elongated seam and a second elongated seam that are non-overlapping with one another, the first and second panels, when connected, define outer an inner boundaries of the life raft, the outer boundary defines an outer polygon having outer sides and the inner boundary defines an inner polygon having inner sides such that each of the plurality of outer sides is parallel with one of the plurality of inner sides.

  • Publication number: 20230192301
Abstract: An inflatable stacked tube assembly may comprise a first panel and a second panel. The first panel may form a first portion of a top tube and a first portion of a bottom tube. The second panel may form a second portion of the top tube and a second portion of the bottom tube. A first seam tape may be bonded to a first top tube interior surface portion of the first panel and a second top tube interior surface portion of the second panel. The first seam tape may be located along a first fold formed by the first panel and along a second fold formed by the second panel.

  • Publication number: 20220017228
Abstract: A releasable restraint for an evacuation system includes a plug body and a socket body. A ball, a plunger, a first spring member, and an adjustable fastener are disposed at least partially within the plug body. A spring force of the first spring member is adjustable in response to moving the adjustable fastener with respect to the plug body. The first spring member urges the plunger against the ball, and in response, the ball extends through a sidewall of the plug body and at least partially through a sidewall of the socket body to lock the plug body to the socket body. In response to a tensile force applied to the releasable restraint, the ball is configured to retract at least partially into the plug body, against the urging of the first spring member, to release the socket body from the plug body.

  • Patent number: 9150462
Abstract: A heated inflation system for an inflatable device on an aircraft is provided. The heated inflation system includes an inflation cylinder configured to hold a gas mixture under pressure, a heating element configured to selectively heat the gas mixture, and a temperature sensor configured to sense a temperature of the gas mixture. The heated inflation system also includes a control module coupled to the heating element and the temperature sensor. The control module is configured to regulate heat applied by the heating element to the gas mixture based on a sensed temperature from the temperature sensor.
