  • Publication number: 20220400131
Abstract: A method, computer system, and computer program product are provided for mitigating network risk. A plurality of risk reports corresponding to a plurality of network devices in a network are processed to determine a multidimensional risk score for the network. The plurality of risk reports are analyzed using a semantic analysis model to identify one or more factors that contribute to the multidimensional risk score. One or more actions are determined using a trained learning model to mitigate one or more dimensions of the multidimensional risk score. The outcomes of applying the one or more actions are presented to a user to indicate an effect of each of the one or more actions on the multidimensional risk score for the network.

  • Publication number: 20120303840
Abstract: A method of implementing a data transfer mechanism to reduce latencies and improve performance comprising the steps of reading a first data element, storing the first data element, and writing the first data element. The first data element may be read from a host. The first data element may be stored in a storage portion of a controller. The first data element may be written to a first destination device. The first data element may also be written to a second destination device prior to deleting the first data element from the storage portion.

  • Patent number: 4711120
Abstract: A method of monitoring the cylinder wall wear using ultrasonic phase comparison techniques is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of introducing ultrasonic waves in a cylinder wall so that the waves travel through the cylinder wall. A change in the traveling time of the ultrasonic waves traveling through the cylinder wall due to cylinder wall wear is determined. The amount of wear of the cylinder wall is calculated by multiplying the velocity of the ultrasonic waves in the cylinder wall by the traveling time change due to cylinder wall wear. The traveling time change due to cylinder wall wear is obtained by determining the actual change in travel time by a phase comparison of the traveling ultrasonic waves and adjusting the actual change in travel time to compensate for any change due to temperature variation of the cylinder wall. With this method, small changes in traveling time on the order of 10.sup.-11 second can be determined so that thickness changes due to wear on the order of 5.times.10.sup.

  • Patent number: 4502331
Abstract: Low pressure turbine disc rims are inspected by a method in which an ultrasonic beam is directed into a disc rim steeple from a location on the disc rim web. Reflected waves are received and signals indicative thereof are produced for display. A predetermined time window is established on the display, based on the time-of-flight difference between the top of the steeple and the disc rim. The presence of signals within the time window on the display is determined to indicate the presence of a crack. Cracks located along the steeple serrations and oriented in a generally tangential direction to the steeple cross section are detected by producing an ultrasonic beam directed along a line normal to the bottom of a steeple. Cracks located at the bottom of a blade groove at the steeple root and oriented in a generally radially direction can be detected by producing an ultrasonic beam skewed at an acute angle relative to the line normal to the bottom of a steeple.

  • Patent number: 4428237
Abstract: An ultrasonic return signal analyzing instrument and method including analog circuitry for making partial power measurements on two selected frequency bands of the frequency spectrum of an ultrasonic return signal waveform and digital circuitry for measuring selected features of the envelope of the ultrasonic return signal waveform. Digital waveform measurements are converted to analog signals and then combined in an algorithmic combining circuit to produce a test statistic signal. A decision circuit receives the test statistic signal and registers a decision on a characteristic of the structure under examination based on the value of the test statistic signal.
