  • Patent number: 8702561
Abstract: The present invention is related to a retarding device for a hand held cutting machine having a housing (1) and a drive engine, which drives a transmission including a number of transmission members (3?, 2) and driving a rotational or semi rotational cutting tool. The retarding device includes brake means (12, 17) arranged to be in close relation with the transmission and for actuating a retarding force on a transmission member (2), the brake means being arranged to automatically put a retarding force on said transmission member when the speed of rotation or the torque of rotation of said transmission member falls below a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7611131
Abstract: The present invention relates to a carburetor of an internal combustion engine having a manually activated start position. The carburetor includes at least a choke valve and a throttle valve both located in the carburetor's main air passage which are able to move between an open and a closed position, each valve having at least one respective lever that cooperates during the manual activation to give at least one start position of the choke and throttle valves. The carburetor further usually includes at least one thermally responsive member arranged to affect the start position. Further a handle is arranged to provide a two stage draw—lift motion to attain the start position.

  • Patent number: 7159691
Abstract: Conventional leaf blowers have a supporting frame to where the different components are attached. In order to reduce the noise from the tool and protect some of the components are they provided with covers. This makes the tool heavy and complicated for the operator to use. The claimed invention is a covering casing (10) that also is the supporting structure for the different components in the tool. The casing reduces the amount of noise spread from the tool and protects the components inside the casing (10).

  • Publication number: 20030154950
Abstract: The claimed invention illustrates a solution that will make it possible to lead exhaust gas from a combustion engine (10) through a noise insulating cover (11) without reducing the noise insulating effect of the cover (11). This is possible by leading the exhaust gas through an expansion chamber (15) made of a material that insulates the cover (11) from the high temperature exhaust gas. The expansion chamber (15) is shaped so that the exhaust gas is lead through a curved channel in order to prevent the noise from spreading outside the cover (11).

  • Patent number: 6324721
Abstract: A portable leaf blower having a fan unit (10) with a fan (11) and a combustion engine (12) for driving the fan. The fan unit (10) is arranged in a shell (16,17) provided with a lower inlet opening (23) through which air, during operation, flows to the fan (11). The shell is further provided with an upper opening (24). When the engine (12) has been cut off, air for cooling the engine (12) flows through the shell (16,17) by means of self convection from the lower inlet opening (23) to the upper opening (24).
