  • Publication number: 20040109053
Abstract: Using a personal desktop printer to print on a print medium for providing a print medium assembly, assembled from individual printed print mediums to create the appearance of a single large printed print medium.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 9, 2002
    Publication date: June 10, 2004
    Inventor: Gustav Allen Ray
  • Publication number: 20040071900
Abstract: A binding substrate comprising a substrate bearing on at least one major surface thereof a water receptive layer which comprises at least one polymer and an effective amount of an ink binding polymer that has an amino as well as a guanidine functional moiety incoporated in it. One such molecule that essentially has both the amino and guanidine moieties is polyaminopropyl biguanidine. The present invention describes the use of polyaminopropy biguandine in inkjet technology.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 10, 2002
    Publication date: April 15, 2004
Inventors: Gustav Allen Ray, Ravi Shankar Renduchintala
  • Publication number: 20040067495
Abstract: A binding substrate comprising a water permeable layer which comprises at least one polymer and an effective amount of a polymeric mordant for binding DNA, RNA and proteins.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 8, 2002
    Publication date: April 8, 2004
    Inventor: Gustav Allen Ray
  • Publication number: 20010014896
Abstract: The software of the present invention allows for easy and accurate printing of the same title or other indicia on both halves of a tab insert on a (perforated) sheet which is passed through a (laser) printer. The user enters the title once (into the computer) and the program automatically copies it. The entered and copied titles are added into a special table of the formatted document. Alternating rows and columns in the table are kept free of the indicia and the copied indicia and thereby define built-in margins allowing for the accurate printing placement of the indicia on the inserts. That is, the empty cells on the table enforce the margins and ensure that the printing stays on the tabs.

  • Patent number: 6071030
Abstract: The tabbed edge of a divider sheet has at least one strip releasably attached thereto. The strip helps the printer (or copier) sense the sheet when being fed strip end first or last (landscape direction) into the printer or copier. When fed in the portrait direction, the strip guides the sheet along the feed tray guides thereby preventing skewing of the sheet. After the printer or copier has printed the desired indicia on the tabs and/or body of the sheet, the strip is removed from the sheet and discarded. The strip can be attached to the sheet with adhesive or by a microperforation line.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 1998
Date of Patent: June 6, 2000
    Assignee: Avery Dennison Corporation
Inventors: Jeffrey C. Hunter, Sonia Owen, Gustav Allen Ray
