  • Patent number: 4543029
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting of bags containing tricklable materials, as well as for separating the goods from bag parts, with a sieve drum and separate outlets for the bag parts, oversized particles, and the goods to be discharged, comprising a bag guidance with a floor inclined in dependence of the load, in a quasi-uniform, upper-and-lower engagement of the cutters to the bag, the cutters being coaxially and peripherally aligned with respect to one another, as well as for a uniform fragmentation and distribution of the goods to be discharged over the length of the sieve drum through accumulation rings.

  • Patent number: 4352718
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for treating particulate material. The said material is injected into a chamber. The material subsequently thereto is sprayed with a moistening material. At the same time gases are introduced at the top of the chamber and at the bottom thereof whereby the moisture on the particulate material is evaporated at a controlled rate. The parameters are such that the applied moisture has an opportunity to penetrate the particulate material for a short period of time to achieve some agglomeration before the moisture is evaporated. A fluidized bed is maintained at the bottom of the chamber and the treated particulate material is removed in this fashion.

  • Patent number: 4141316
Abstract: An apparatus for the treatment of powdery and granular substances, which provides for cooling or heating and/or spraying the substances with liquid or molten addition or treatment elements in a vessel rotationally symmetrical to its vertical axis. The substances to be treated are introduced into a vortex flow at the head of the vessel and then carried along by a substantially axially parallel, downward-moving gas stream and are conducted through a spraying zone in which the liquid or molten elements are sprayed thereon. This flow, after a movement undisturbed over a certain interval, strikes upon a counterflow rising from underneath, the velocity adjustment of which is determined by the sifting effect and/or the staying time. The gases, preferably air, enter the vessel in a tempered state in correspondence to the desired result of the process.

  • Patent number: 4002323
Abstract: An arrangement for mixing and treating powdered and granular material by introducing compressed gas into a mechanically driven mixing device with an upright cylindrical mixing tank. The tank has an intake for the material to be mixed, and an outlet for the mixed material. Above the flat bottom of the tank, is a rotating hub to which stirring paddles are fastened. A vacant space is left between the flat bottom of the tank and the wall panels of the stirring paddle, and extends from the hub to the cylindrical outside wall of the tank. Supply channels introduce the compressed gas through the hub and into the vacant space. A slit is provided between the hub and the wall panels of the stirring paddle and the adjacent tank wall section for the exit passage of compressed gas into the mixing tank along the entire stirring paddle from the hub to the outside cylindrical wall of the tank.
